And I'll gladly pay a few bucks extra to make sure what I buy comes with a manual too, but sometimes that's not an option.
Why not save that money and use it buy another game?
Because OCD collector reasons.

Also I never pay THAT much more. I've never gone above like $10 extra for a manual.

Fair enough. Everyone has their preferences.

SMS and Genesis and anything else I'll buy and if it has the box I'll gladly take it. I'm starting to hate buying CB with no manual. It's like "so close, yet so far away" haha, but it's either that or pass on it completely and who knows when it'll turn up again.

The only things I dont mind not CIB are NES, SNES, N64 carts, and Hu cards. I prefer all of them to be cib if I can.

I'm very anal but getting complete games that are on disc. I sometimes even go out of my way to get special edition versions of some games.

Same here. It just looks awful without the case. Although I don't agree with you about the GB games.

You could possibly put the cardboard SegaCD CDs (I never knew any of them came in cardboard) in a jewel case with a custom cover.
For the first few months, games like Night Trap (original release) and Sewer Shark came in cardboard boxes. Later on, they were replaced by the extended plastic CD cases which aren't great, but acceptable. I think I'm going to do what you do in the sense that if most games came in nice cases, but a few came in cardboard, I'll make custom cases (like you said with the Genesis) just to keep continuity, but I'll still go for the manual. I've found that on eBay and other sites, sometimes the games come with disc and manual, but no cardboard box, which works for me.

Everything I buy is CIB, no exceptions, regardless of platform.

I really make it a point to get CIB copies of Famicom games, but I tend to get 'em complete for other systems as well, mostly out of convenience. It is nice to have the case and manual.

Actually, I think my only loose games are GB/GBC/GBA ones. Don't care about the box and instructions for those, and I have these handy plastic covers for storing them.
