Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest....

And I wouldn't call them rock gods, seeing as the good stuff they did wasn't rock, it was metal. Some of their later stuff falls into rock territory though.

Fact: This is the only good Metallica album:

for once they captured that in-between Slayer and Sabbath vibe. Everything else has chased it and fallen short.

Love all three but I wouldn't rank them higher. I will say that Iron Maiden doesn't get the respect they deserve these days. I went to a concert in I believe '07 - '08ish, barely anybody there. Sad day for rock.

I'd put all three of those above Metallica myself.

I do like more Metallica than dsh does, but I don't like them all that much- the same with the rest of the thrash big four or most straight-up thrash. My favorite thrash is when its mixed with other genres.

Also, the U.S. has Dr. Phil. How else will you learn to deal with your problems without some good guidance?

Not saying Europe doesn't have awesome metal bands but nobody can touch (old)Metallica IMO.
I hope to god this is a joke. Terrible band.

I highly disagree with Metallica being terrible. Your opinion of course, but "terrible" is a description you save for the Jonas brothers or miley cyrus. Metallica is by far not terrible. They produce guitar riffs so awesome, that Dave Mustaine goes out of his way to say they stole it from him lol

Will you at least acquiesce that Master of Puppets has some merit?

Don't know about USA, but Maiden is huge in Europe and South America, probably in some Asian countries too (Japan atleast). I'm pretty sure that they've been actually more popular in the 2000s than they were in the 1990s and 1980s (though they were less popular in the 90s than in 80s to my knowledge, so they basically recovered from their downfall by getting Bruce back and starting to release all these new sounding albums in the 2000s)

I agree that they don't get respected enough. They've put out so many albums, have a strong work ethic (no sex drugs n rock n roll lifestyle for them) and their lyrics are deeply inspired by history, religion etc and they put quite a lot of research into those subjects, so when you consider how skilled and professional musicians they are, yes they are underrated despite the huge global fanbase.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box
