I'd place DMC4 pretty much on par with DMC2.

I've got my complaints with 4, and it's not on par with 1 and 3, but I can't see how it could possibly be seen on par with 2. It is so much better. Or perhaps more accurately, 2 is so much worse.

Now I don't hate 2, but I have a mountain high stack of complaints. It is barely even a DMC game other than name. Despite numerous design issues, 4 feels like a DMC game to the core. The weapon system in 2, the bosses, the utter lack of difficulty, the bland level design, Lucia mode, ugh... it's a mess. I'll probably be posting about it in the games beaten thread after a few more runs.

I haven't delved that far into the game yet. Is this the one you're talking about? The Roivas Mansion Music?
