I wonder if Power Base Converter or 32X could work with this thing?
The 32X, definitely not. There would be no way to hook it up. It's also an emulator box, not real hardware.

The only theoretical solution would be for the emulator itself to support 32X games from the Genesis slot without needing a 32X at all which would be completely awesome. I'm not getting my hopes up for something like this though.

The Power Base converter, maybe since it's just a fancy cartridge slot adapter. Again, the emulator they're using would have to have support for Master System games.
I wonder how come you never see any of these kind of consoles w/ 2600 support?
Hyperkin answered this once, and it's for the same reason we don't see Master System support and other consoles like that. Nobody is currently mass producing the cartridge slots and it would cost them too much to have them custom manufactured.

They can only work with what they have available to them.

Yea, it's the same reason we haven't seen any Gamegear clones. :(

I think it would be totally feasible for them to give it a firmware update so it could support the 32X & Master System games (through their respective adapters). But hey, the ReTrojan could do Master System games through a pin converter.
My thoughts/questions:

I'm a little confused, is it part emulation and part clone console in the way it works? I think in one of the articles it did say hardware emulators.
It doesn't have a GBA link-port, does it?
Will the Super Game Boy/Super Game Boy 2 work with it (I know there's already a slot but this is for those enhancements), as well as other add-ons like the Famicom Disk System?
Will multi-taps work with it?
Will PIRATED games work with this? (Any multicart for example)
N64/NES/FC/SNES/SFC/GB (SGB)/GBC (Black)(SGB)/FDS/Satellaview/Genesis/Mega Drive/Master System & maybe N64DD/GBC/GBA.

Well it's part console clone in the sense that it's got the hardware to support cartridges and controllers. But it will be running the games in software through android based emulators. It should be an improvement over the console-on-a-chip clones and of course it offers all the other benefits already discussed such as save-states and HDMI.

I was thinking they could update it to accept 32X games too. Hopefully it will have enough support for them to consider pulling it off.

As for what will or won't work with it we'll just have to wait and see though there's no reason pirated games and reproductions shouldn't work the same way they work on any other console.

I doubt there will be a link cable port, at least I haven't heard anything about one. The Super Game Boy should theoretically work since the Super Nintendo itself doesn't do any emulating and the Super Game Boy acts like any other SNES cartridge. It works in most other clones I've come across but the Retron 5 is the first of its type so who knows.

A game gear player for my TV would be awesome, so many games I would try out.

The closest thing we have to compare it to is the Retrode, and that does not support the Super Gameboy or Powerbase converter, but does support 32x games.

Nice, and if you read the comments, Hyperkin confirms the $99 price for the US.
