Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Skillet was never an amazing band, but I liked some of their older stuff. Comatose was a good album (please don't make fun of me). It started to get hilariously bad with Awake.
I've seen them at music festivals three times and it was always a joke. The first time, the lead singer had a sore throat and insisted on singing anyway so he wouldn't disappoint the fans. He into the microphone for an hour while the rest of the band chugged on. Kudos for the effort! Some teenagers got thrown out for trying to mosh. I probably enjoyed this one the most, actually
Second time, they stopped halfway through because it started to rain - despite the gigantic roof over their stage. Their equipment was fine and playing guitar in the rain is fine. I've done it. The wood isn't going to warp in half an hour. This was around the time they started including the drummer's singing, because she was younger and cuter than the bassist who could sing. Missed a lot of notes even though she was using autotune.
Third time, they performed adequately but also used a recording. There were two live violin players and a cellist but there weren't enough of them to make it sound exactly like the album. The anonymous strings players were extremely precise. Unfortunately, they only played music from their newer albums, which they plugged in between every song.
I know touring can be really stressful, but I know plenty of amateur musicians who put on a good show every time, no matter what. Doesn't matter if they're in a foreign country and they don't speak the language. Doesn't matter if the drummer gets naked and throws his pants into the crowd. Doesn't matter if they're hungry or tired or have brain tumors or someone drops the amp head and they have to fix it in ten minutes. I guess bigger bands can afford to BS it >_>

Is it bad to use coupon at a thrift shop? The shop has e-coupons but I feel weird using them. They had some nice games last time I went there.

If the thrift shop has coupons they clearly want you to use them.oxymoron wrote:Is it bad to use coupon at a thrift shop? The shop has e-coupons but I feel weird using them. They had some nice games last time I went there.

They already screwed up my schedule for this school year. I have a feeling this year is really going to suck.

I like Chevelle, well their first 2 albums. Same with Shinedown. Not a fan of their recent work though.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Needs some Chevelle.KDub wrote:Worst line up for a concert

Various things. My math class is listed as one I've already taken, and I was put into the wrong art class. I've taken a ceramics class to fill my schedule before, I'd rather have an art class with some work on paper.Luke wrote:How did that happen?Forlorn Drifter wrote:They already screwed up my schedule for this school year.
EDIT: Also, I need to get about $5000. That seems to be the amount of cash I need to have for any kind of decent vehicle I would like. I'd even be doing good with $4000, and there is a sweet '69 Montego sitting on craigslist right now, but I doubt I'll be getting enough cash for it anytime soon.
