But none of them would have him either except for Russia, which is ironic given the circumstances. Putin is such a troll.

Agreed. I hate it so much.
Unfortunately this what our school system teaches us by default and it's hard to overcome it as an adult. I remember back when I was in school they tried to change it up and teach us the metric system. Basically a lot of our teachers said "No way! This is 'Murica! We're not teaching our students that crap!". Either that or the parents got angry... Either way it was stupid and we stuck with learning feet, inches and miles. I still have a hard time measuring in metrics, because my brain defaults to inches and feet. :/

Yeah....about that....

The UK is officially on the metric system, but honestly, it's more 50/50.

We measure temperature in Celsius, petrol and most drinks in Litres and most produce in grams and kilograms .

However, we measure our height in feet and our weight in stone, all of our road signs are in miles and our beer and cider comes in pints.

We have a good mix of that stuff here, too. Soda comes in 1-2-or 3 liter bottles. Most of our ammunition is in millimeters. Some of our drugs we buy by the gram/kilogram (though some we buy in ounces/pounds). Almost all medical stuff (and all post-high school science in general) uses metric. I like the mix, as it forces us to know both.

I mean, how cool is it that on a nice 75 degree day like today I can drive a few miles to the grocery store and pick up a 3 liter of Dr. Pepper, stop at McDonald's for a quarter pounder with cheese (and meet someone in the parking lot for an 1/8th oz of weed), then take my 9mm to the old HS football field for target practice, shoot targets 100 yards downrange, and finally go home and pass out on my bed? If I have a headache in the morning, I'll just take a few hundred mg of Tylenol and drink a large 32oz of coffee.

I don't know if I'd argue most ammo sizes are in metric. A decent portion, but outside of 10mm and 9mm most consumer based firearms aren't, although there are exceptions.

The worst thing with having both standard and metric stuff around is having to own two sets of tools like socket wrenches and still not knowing which one you're supposed to use half the time.
