An L2 admin that as been extremely nice to me since I started working here came up to me today and asked if I'd like <said position>. The <said position> is not necessarily L2, but more like L1.5. Apparently one of our <said position> admins is taking his spot, and he's moving to L3. So they need somebody to replace the other guy. The L2 has been looking over my tickets for the past few weeks and has really liked my work. He says that I "am consistent", "have great replies", "don't respond until I check my work". He said that I need to work on my "speed" and "troubleshooting skills". (The two things I thought would get me fired). In <said position> I don't have to worry about my speed... at all. I probably won't get bonus because of this, but like I'm really getting bonus anyway??
He says that he really wants me in that position, but we have to wait for my supervisor to get back from vacation. My supervisor is kind of a jerk, but it's because he's so apathetic. He just doesn't seem to care about anything unless he's being yelled at. So neither of us see that as a problem.
Even if that doesn't pan out, I'm already being trained for another position that's kinda like L1.25. Basically I stay where I'm at, but handle harder work. Either way I'm "moving up". Interesting...
EDIT:
Also, where I work: L3 > Supervisor. He just can't officially change my title because he's not my direct supervisor.

I may have, finally, a week before school stars, found a permanent residence. Taking a look and a talk this afternoon.
It would be so nice to have that stress off my shoulders.

Community College. They don't have dorms. They do have living assistance (help with groceries and such) but no living spaces.

Ah I gotcha. My university doesn't have dorms either.
Kind of a moot point anyway, since I'm a 30 year old man with a wife and kid... Don't think anyone would want me in the dorms.
