What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Haven't mentioned these two yet:

UNLUCKY CHARMS

The latest offering from Full Moon.

The plot is about a group of ancient magical creatures who are unwillingly forced to do the will of a morally-bankrupt woman who staves off aging by stealing souls from the women who are competing to be the face of her goth-inspired lingerie line.

Special appearance by Mike Diva.

And the red color I used is a reference to the fact that the leprechaun from the cover and film is Far Darrig, known also as "The Red Man".

As a fan of the original, I was curious how this would work.

Since it was a remake, I took it with a grain of salt, knowing what I should and should not expect.

And with that in mind, I liked it.

I hear there's a sequel in the works, and that there's gonna be two sequels to AoD, one being Army of Darkness 2 and one that:
apparently ties together the narratives of the original series and the new series.

MIMESIS: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

Not the best version of NotLD, but it's an interesting experiment albeit one that would have worked better as either a video game or a legitimate NotLD LARP.

After seeing how Gundam (space colonies) and power armor it looked, I feel pretty much obligated to go see it.

CARRIE (2013)

Did this have to get remade? Nope. Am I glad they did a remake? Yes sirs and mams.

Not only because it is an incredibly well told story with a modern feel, not only because it will introduce a new generation to Steven King (who rules), but it solidifies Chloe Moretz as as a powerhouse. She's no longer "that kid who was on My Name is Earl and Hit Girl", she is and will continue to be a very sought after actress. Moore, as always, delivers the goods, but doesn't steal the show.

I'm not saying Oscar nominations, but this movie, once the buzz gets going, is going to put a lot of butts in seats. Chloe is approaching heart throb age for young men, and this film will make some guys fall in love head over heels. Mostly the weird dudes, but people will be crushing on her. She has really come of age.

So. I'm sure the big question is "Is it scary?". Well, it's CARRIE not CUJO, so if you are familiar with the story it really isn't about trying to be scary. Scary moments happen, but luckily the movie focuses more on story, characters, and making you feel very uncomfortable. It's a squirmier, not a screamer. I'm also looking forward to seeing this in a packed theater and doing a head count to see how many people leave.

It sounds great...but how does the ending compare to the original? (The ending of the original film is the only sequence in any horror film to make me yell an expletive.)

wasn't Carrie already remade? The one with Katherine Isabel was a remake wasn't it?

Anyway, the trailer for this new remake looks terrible.

The same, but different. I'm not spoiling a thing, but the trailer does.

Another remake? I saw the newer one before this and it was good. Looking forward to seeing the take on this one.

You mean Katharine Isabelle? That was a made-for-TV film that was supposed to lead to a TV show.

Yes. I always spell her name wrong. But I think she's awesome.

I did see that version, and it was bad. It was yearsssss ago though, so I don't remember much.
