 It slipped my mind that the discontinuation date I was looking at would be referring only to the original model. Still, the DS released in 2004: Still well within the glory days of the 6th gen. If it's to be considered 7th gen, what then is the basis for a generation of consoles: home, or handheld consoles? Or are they to be considered in their own, non-abiding timelines?

Sorry, I calls it as I sees it: DS is 6th gen.

Klonoa 2 was a sequel to the original game, however. Klonoa for the Wii is pretty much a straight port of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile for the PS1.

I am not looking for sequels here. Rather, I am looking for games that were ported to a system one generation removed from the original version.
Klonoa came out on the PS2 as part of the NTSCJ Namco 50th Anniversary Collection. Well it was actually the PS1 version but it runs under PS2 and can be installed to the Fat hard drive.

How about Bomberman for the PS2 which is almost on every console and computer? There are derivatives for Euro and Japan versions but not the actual Bomberman and no US release at all.
