Just bad, baaaad. Decent gameplay, but the onslaught of 5+ cutscenes in every level after every encounter/room, it definitely killed it for me after awhile. Just horrible pacing for an action game. The humor and characters didn't help at all either. It was just average, whereas Rising and Vanquish (I can probably tell) just have that awesome Arnold Schwarzenegger Predator level badassness to them.

Some people love it though, yeah. So who knows. I'm hoping 2 is the end and Kamiya can whip up something a bit more like Devil May Cry again down the road.
Oh, I thought I was alone in my opinion since everyone else I've spoken to loves it. I guess I'm not insane, yet.

It's not any cheesier than the opening cutscenes in Vanquish or anything in DMC. I think my problem with Vanquish was I was playing it too much like a typical third person peak-a-boo shooter instead of sliding around everywhere.
I don't mind how cheesy it is. I love cheese. Rising and Vanquish are nothing but cheese. Bayonetta's gameplay just couldn't hold my attention, though there's some incredible visuals.

And yeah, if you go into Vanquish treating it like a normal cover-based shooter like I think a lot of people did the game feels slow and plodding. Once you get the hang of using Sam's mobility it's one of the fastest most insane action games out there.

I got way more into Bayonetta's gameplay than I have with any other comparable game. I do want to go back to Vanquish sometime though.

I didn't mean cheesy necessarily in art style, but the game play in itself didn't look all that interesting, where Vanquish had a more unique experience.

I guess it depends on what you're into I suppose. I hardly get excited about any sort've game that resolves around gunplay. Vanquish is a bit different than most in that regard at least.

So the Limited Edition of this is going for $78 (was $150 originally) sold directly via Amazon right now, and comes with the plasma lamp, anyone think its worth it for the lamp and steelbook?

Still want to get this game along with DmC
