OG Xbox recommendations

Post by anonymous1980 »

So far i've got:

Otogi: Myth of Demons
Otogi II: Immortal Warriors
Shenmue II
Soul Calibur II
Outrun 2
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Jet Set Radio Future
Burnout 3: Takedown
Timesplitters 3: Future Perfect
Halo 2
Ninja Gaiden Black
Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller
Dead or Alive Ultimate Edition
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge

And am going to get Rallisport Challenge 2, Project Gotham Racing 2, Def Jam: Fight for NY, SSX 3 and Metal Wolf Chaos. But after that, it's all blank.

I don't want any game that has a PC version (Halo 2 & CT3: High Roller are the sole exceptions)..

:( Anything i'm missing that's actually great? Anything brilliantly fun that's such a hidden gem, that barely anyone played it? Besides exclusives, i'd also wouldn't mind some multiplats (PS2/Dreamcast/GC/Xbox - but no PC version).

It's pretty steep (for the controller at least), but Steel Battalion is an experience you won't really get much anywhere else. It's a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed that one, but I'm also a big fan of futuristic racers.

You might find this list useful in building your library though:

That's an impressive list considering that excludes games that were later ported via dlc. For a system that got a lot of flack for not having any software to offer, it has a lot or content you couldn't find on the other consoles.

The Xbox was a really nice system. In addition to having some very fun exclusives, it also had some great "console exclusive" ports of PC games, and it also had - as a general rule - the best version of most multi-platform games. I have had a lot of fun collecting for it and playing some of the games that I missed during the first half of the '00s. (I purchased a PS2 and Gamecube at release, but I did not get an Xbox until 2010.)

Xbox is def a system I will dive into later. Makes it nice that the games are cheap, a lot of the times I have to resort to emulation for retro games.

It's hard getting it any respect amongst typical gamer crowds though. Any time I mention the Xbox has good games people just say like what, and I can't really reply since no one would know what games I am referencing.
