Last night while getting Dragon's Crown I finally saw a Copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 in the wild and picked it up.

After a MANDATORY INSTALL TO THE HARD DRIVE! I played the game and was informed if I "signed out" I would be kicked back to the title screen. Anywho i started playing wondering what that meant. I couldn't find anything online about it so this morning I decided to confirm is this was a single player game that required online.

It was a game that is always online dispite single Player that required a Hard Drive install.
Just like what Microsoft was trying to do with every XBOX One game. So I did what any body would do. I took that game out put it in a Trade pile and have every intent to trade it toward a game that doesn't have this bullshit.

So I was wondering if there are any other retail games with this DRM Bullshit so I can avoid them.

Does the UK Version of Warriors Orochi 3 have this? Otherwise I'm just importing the Sengoku Basara HD Collection.

I did I logged out of PSN and booted the game up. When I press start at the title screen it took me to the PSN Log on and would not let me play the game until I did.

Get to the screen where it asks you to log in to PSN

then try pressing Circle.


Pretty sure that'll fix your problem, as I've played that game before without being online. It's probably just pestering you because the game uses online leaderboards to compare your score with everyone else's.

Still seems like bullshit to me if it isn't obvious how to play the game without signing in.

I mostly do not have my ps3 hooked up to the internet because the massive constant updates piss me off and I have never run into a game that would straight up not let me play offline.

go to the systems tab and disable internet connection for your PS3. Then boot it up. It can't ask you to sign in because you won't even have an internet connection. I don't own Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 specifically, but only XBLA indie games require you to be online to play offline content as far as I'm aware.

I hear Heavy Rain was one. But I hated that game and didn't play much beyond the first hour. Madison's rack was not enough to compel me to endure such autistic gameplay.

Anyways I gave Sigma 2 another go last night with my PS3 logged off of PSN and I pressed circle and lo and behold. YES Chapter 1 loading is gracing my screen.
