I thought I'd update (again) with my current list of subscriptions.

CAGcast - Is def one of my fav podcasts (and surprisingly my wife's fav podcast). It's consistently funny and interesting, even when straying way off-topic of video games.

Retrogaming with Racketboy - Video gaming's Odd Couple. Have you heard these guys? One of them is always right.

Sega Addicts - Generally solid show for Sega fans.

All Gen Gamers - Another favorite of mine, and y'all already know MetalJesus.

RFGeneration Collectorcast - Awesome, friendly guys (including Duke.Togo and Crabmaster2000 who are members here) who do a show that seriously hit 5 hours sometimes. The bulk of the show is basically RFGen's equivalent of our "Finds of the Day" thread being discussed. It's far more amusing than it sounds from my description.

Lifehacker - I don't enjoy the show as much as the blog. But there's still enough interesting stuff on there so that I can't seem to let myself delete the subscription... yet.

The Joystiq Podcast - As far as major gaming site shows dealing with new games, this one would probably be my favorite. But I also read Joystiq and generally enjoy the writing/reviews there so take that for what it's worth.

RPG Cast - I might delete this one. I'm still on the fence. Though the Shin Megami Tensei IV discussion on the last episode certainly pleased me.

The Nerdist - OMG The Nerdist rules! I don't know why I waited so long to listen to everyone who said "dude you'd love it" because I really do love it.

Jim Florentine's 'Comedy Metal Midgets' - I think this one is hilarious, but my wife says it puts her in a bad mood when listen to it cuz Jim is usually ranting about how stupid people are. So now we don't listen as much haha.

Destructoid's Video Game Podcast - I'm thinking of deleting. I haven't been keeping up with it. I think the site is good, but I'm not such a fan of the podcast.

Retronauts - I'm so glad this is still a thing. The new NEW Retronauts is way better than the Bob Mackey-hosted iteration in my book. You've got regular episodes one week, which are very much like the first-run Retronauts years where you get an hour or so devoted to a single game/series and it feels like a little history lesson. Then every other week you get "Retronauts Pocket" which are shorter episodes spearheaded by one of the Retronauters that explore more tangential aspects of games. So awesome.

Topics with Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter - What can I say? I've been obsessed with The State dudes since Jr. High. I pretty much follow anything and everything that anyone from that group works on over the years.

Top Score with Emily Reese - a really cool show in which Emily Reese discusses video game scores with composers.

Also:

Does anyone know any good podcasts RE: video game music? I've heard some that are literally JUST music. That's not what I'm looking for though. Something where music (especially classic 8bit/16bit) is discussed as well as played. Even if it's just someone introducing like "ok this next song is from such and such a game from this year and composed by" instead of just a playlist of tracks playing. (?)

Does anyone have any good movie casts - especially horror ones? For a while we were subscribing to one (name escapes me, hosted by 2 guys, one was Canadian) but we canceled because they'd spoil everything. Like brand new movies or stuff just unearthed on DVD but they'd have major spoilers which really ruined the show for us.

Does anyone have any good music casts - again, ones that not only play music but discuss as well. Obviously I'm a big hip hop fan, but I'm honestly interested in all genres so long as the podcast is interesting and I might learn something.

I know you're not much of a metal fan, but Reqiuem Metal Podcast is really nice. New episodes are kinda infrequent, but they have a pretty lengthy back catalog.

Generally, each episode is basically a historical look at an individual band's discography, a specific period of their career, or a specific album. Lots of cool discussion, trivia, etc between songs.

I remember you mentioning that one before, and actually think I'm going to subscribe. Like I said, I always enjoy that sort of history lesson stuff, and my wife actually enjoys metal more than I do so we'd probably both be into this one.

I've been listening to the pocketgamer.co.uk podcast recently. They cover iOS, Android, and Nintendo/Sony handhelds.

I've been enjoying the All Gen Gamers podcast quite a bit the past few months, along with the Player One cast. I really enjoy the participants in those casts and viewpoints, even if I don't always agree with them. The Player One guys really make me laugh sometimes

I find myself sometimes enjoying the Game Informer cast too, to my surprise, as I don't care all that much about the magazine

Anyone who likes hearing how videogames are made or what people that make videogames would say about games they didn't make should listen to Idle Thumbs.

Two of the members are the writers/directors of The Walking Dead game (Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin) at TellTale and Chris Remo is a writer/composer over at Doublefine, who has worked on Thirty Flights for Loving and Gone Home. Quite enjoyable to listen to.

Thanks for the feedback, we are working on that as I speak and have some contract offers out to a few pro editors.
