Dune Dynasty (Dune II engine)

A Windows & Linux port of the Dune II engine trying to keep gameplay as close to the original as possible, but supports higher resolutions, zooming and multiple unit selection. Adlib emulated music, custom campaigns (Super Dune II!) and other good stuff. You need the original DOS game files.

Having played with it a bunch, the emulated adlib is not correct at all. Luckily, you can just stick MP3s of the original recordings into it's pre-made directories to fix that problem. Also you can experience what the MT-32 recordings sounded like 'cause unless you were/are totally hard core with external audio boxes coming out of your vintage PC you could never hear that while playing the game. I'm having a blast with it - just like the original, but multiple unit selection means you can now Zerg-Rush without breaking a sweat. Also I've played with it's custom campaign options a bit - you can create an empty campaign folder and just stick in a couple of .ini edits to change both the enemy's and your own buld-time and price-per unit and it'll change gameplay completely. Edit a unit's speed and the AI enemy will take advantage as-well. Make units cheaper and the AI will rush you too. Very fun!
