Blue shirts are the antichrist of middle management.

Isn't giving them the choice to choose what to wear more making them adults than taking it away from them?
Anyways usually parents buy and choose the clothes for their kids untill they turn 11-14 or so anyways. The whole expressing yourself by buying mass-produced clothes all the other kids are buying because you need certain set of clothes to express that you like certain type of music or hobby thing doesn't really come into effect until kids are semi-teenagers (11-12) and teenagers.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Agreed; on your post.

You've never heard of taxes, or do you not know how taxes work?

In America? You guys refuse to pay for healthcare for the needy, how will you justify paying for silly looking clothes?

Yes I work in a professional work environment and we just have to wear something with a collar.

More and more companies are going away with the 1950s dress code requirements. Many kids are also not going to be white collar workers when they grow up. Uniforms seem pointless unless there is an excess of issues involved with clothing going on.

I was once pulled aside at a job for wearing a blue dress shirt. "You can wear whatever you'd like when you make quota, but only a white shirt with a black suit for now".

That's life in the real world.
You assume these people will be working jobs where there is a dress code that strict. Y'know there is a chance they could be working blue collar?

Also, there is the fact that school is not work, whether or not you seem to think so. Its learning, not work. If it was work, they would pay the student.

I don't see any reason for a uniform.

 Oh the butt hurt. Yea you are complete idiot if you think across the country people are going to be willing to raise taxes to give kids uniforms so they can attend a school that has no money to pay its teachers. Get your head out of your ass.

Here in the UK pretty much all schools have uniforms. I didn't really think about it much, but nowadays, knowing how I dressed when I was 13, I'm kinda glad that there was a dress code. I would've been bullied something chronic

The main issue I have with them is the cost to be honest. A lot of schools lately have been making blazers the standard uniform, and they cost quite a bit. The school my girlfriend attended used to change the colour of the uniform for the final years on a yearly basis. They said it was to let them stand out, but it seems obvious to me that it's to sell you a new colour uniformeach year to make money. Even if it still fits, you can't wear that lovely purple jumper you bought last year. This year we're wearing maroon you see.

But doesn't the UK have a major bullying problem regardless of the uniform dress code?
