Getting flashbacks? :P

Well today was a busy day...I spent most of it taking apart my PS3 to clean it then trying to figure out what part goes where to put it back together...managed it but took up most of the day. Other then that it was spent running around the house finding things for a wedding we have to go to tomarrow.

Chances are I won't have time to go to Radioshack until Sunday or Monday. But I did manage to pull my TV out and look at the back..I have an antenna plug thing. So I guess I just need the connector, gold obviously for better quality.

I'd be more concerned with the girth, length and shielding on the composite cable between the system and the adapter. Gold plated connections make very little difference imo. Composite cable is not meant to carry an RF signal so it's not usually shielded as well as coaxial cable is designed.

That cable is part of the 2600 though unless it's been removed internally. So it will be a shielded cable.

Well I finally got to Radioshack and oddly enough the staff actually knew what I was talking about lol. Got the connector and it works! Oh how I love my new Atari...the graphics might not be much and the sound is horrible but hey its a classic and I dig classics.

Thanks to everyone who helped me.

To me at best it's an acquired taste, whereas others seem to absolutely swear by it.
Personally I could never really get into the 2600. Maybe if I was from that era to kinda grow up with it and have those types of memories/nostalgia kick. I dunno.
Love the collecting aspect of it, though!

If you have cable it doesn't hurt to have a switch box as well. I have a 3 input box with my cable, atari 2600, and one soon to be filled slot hooked up to my tv. Saves you from having to swap out cords constantly.

Three games I highly recommend are Pitfall, Warlords, and Airlock they are my favorite games so far on the 2600.

If you need any games or controllers give me a heads up I have a bunch of stuff left over from lot deals that I am about to toss up on Ebay.

lol...i'm a 90's kid myself...I was to late for the epic 80's. The only reason I grew up on an NES was because my mom happened to get one in a business trade. I was lucky.
