Great list, good refresher on a few I still need to check out.
For some reason I can't get into Demon's Crest though, I've tried so many times, but yeah it never clicks with me even though I grew up a huge fan of Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

Re: SNES RPGs
Admittedly the jump-hover-fly platforming takes some getting used to. I'm just a big fan of that series in general so I might be biased. I even enjoy the older gameplay of Gargoyle's Quest more than Demon's Crest. But the latter's atmosphere is just through the roof and I really get sucked into its world whenever I play it.
I'm at a loss for further SNES JRPG recommendations. Not because there aren't more to mention, but because there are so many to mention. Analysis paralysis.

I think that's it for me. I absolutely love the atmosphere to it and love how consistent it is with Super Ghouls, amazing graphics and music, but the controls... are just really weird. Maybe I'll keep trying it and eventually get into it.

Yup, that's definitely the biggest hurdle when you first start playing.Admittedly the jump-hover-fly platforming takes some getting used to.
I'd recommend you do. It's worth putting some time into learning the wonky controls so that you can enjoy all that the game has to offer. I've only beat it once, and I got one of the lamer endings, so I think I'll have to go back and play it as well.Maybe I'll keep trying it and eventually get into it.

Re: SNES RPGs
The first time I beat Demon's Crest (circa 1998) I got the false ending and didn't even know it. Years later I found out about the Ultimate Gargoyle form and the real final boss. So I went and did all of that and to my surprise that made the game about 15% longer. Really, there's a lot of content to miss if you don't get the true ending. I recommend any fan of the game definitely go do it or you're missing out on a large chunk of the experience. Plus being the Ultimate Gargoyle just makes you feel like a bad ass.

That's pretty interesting. Sounds even more game changing than getting to the final boss in Super Ghouls and Ghosts, heh.
