I think people just love getting on the Nintendo is doomed bandwagon. You know how everyone on the internet loves to be right, and thus a common concencus is formed, even about stuff that is subjective (nothing to do with this topic).

There was a time around E3 I too thought the Wii U was doomed (I mean their E3 was pretty lacking when it comes to stuff that is coming out in 2013).

Now I just think all 3 consoles will have trouble selling more than half they did the previous gen. At least the Wii U has Nintendo games, which means I will get one sooner or later. Will have to wait to see if I'll be investing in a PS4

Yeah I guess. Just wish everybody will take a chill pill sometimes. This applies to many other subjects as well that "journalists" and forum dwellers get firedup about.

Part of the reason I started posting here as opposed to GameFAQs or something. :P

anyone grab the wonderful 101 demo today? I played it earlier today and enjoyed it. It takes a bit to get used to, the controls are pretty complex with a lot of different mechanics to use. its very fast paced, but I was not a fan of how far the camera would have to zoom out sometimes. The demo is also pretty long, giving you a good amount of time to get used to the game.

@ZeroAX

I personally found Red Steel on the Wii to be fun , but I do not go telling people to buy the Wii to play this game.

When I was talking about TANK!TANK!TANK! not being worth mentioning is that because I was looking at the bigger picture and what kind of games are needed to move Wii U hardware. If we paraphrase that, is TANK!TANK!TANK! the kind of games that are going to sell enough WiiU units to make it reach healthy/expected levels?

For example , I do not like Call of Duty. It is NOT my cup of tea , but I understand its the kind of game that will sell hardware.

Honestly we could throw any reasoning at you and you'd find a negative response and it isn't based on anything besides that you don't see the value in the WiiU. Which is perfectly fine that you don't, but I think you need to realize that you don't see the value and some of these arguments presented to you are very valid.

I love the Nintendo Doom wagon. If anything it only encourages my die-hard Nintendo purchasing habits. Anyone hoping for the big N to croak has a while to wait, though. From the financial information they released to their investors the other day, the Mario factory has cash reserves that any company smaller than Apple would kill for.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Yes! At first I was overwhelmed by the controls/number of things on screen/speed but I slowly got better - it has a nice little learning curve. And it's really fun. Week 1 purchase for me, fo sho.

But is it? By this time CoD is like FIFA. You know you want a next-gen console to play the latest and best version, but WHICH next-gen console? Also why not keep playing it on the PC and avoid paying 400-500€ for a new console?

But when you have a game you can ONLY get on one console, no matter HOW obscure or non-mainstream it seems to be, it has a higher chance of convincing you to buy a SPECIFIC console.

And that game for me is Lego City Undercover. I don't think that many people cared for the game, except those like me who went crazy for it and are considering a Wii U JUST for it.

On the other hand I LOVED my PS3, but with the announced games for the PS4 just being more of the same (the Wii U suffer from this too though, it's just that it IS finally getting some unique titles (Lego City, Sonic Lost Worlds for example), I don't see why I should buy one when my PC from 2009 plays all modern games so well

No...Call of Duty does sell hardware, a lot more than any of the games you're talking about. People have this really strange way at looking at exclusive and nonexclusive games. I think gamers have a hard time not realizing that not everyone looks at consoles through the eyes of "konsole kombat".

People will buy the new Xbox to just play Call of Duty. People will buy the new PS4 to just buy Call of Duty. People probably will not buy the Wii-U to play the new Call of Duty.

Why wouldn't someone buy Call of Duty for the computer? I don't know, people are intimidated by computers, realistically we don't need any consoles for gaming, but we still buy them. People have plenty of reasons why they don't play video games on the computer, none of them are good of course, but they have their reasons none the less.

Not for me, I mainly care about convince and genre diversity. Quality of overall library matters a lot more than having a game I can't play some where else.

I think you missed his point... I think he was stating, which you somewhat confirmed, that just CoD won't make people choose one console over another because its multi-plat. You yourself stated people will buy an Xbone and PS4 to play call of duty. So again no advantage for either console. Add that with exclusive content and then consoles start to sell.
