It's not just you. They want you to parry, not dodge. It's awkward at first but once you get good at it you're practically invincible.Pulsar_t wrote:This game is coming to Windows, along with the DLC I believe. Is it me or does it lack a dodging maneuver?

Whoops brain fart. Yup I meant AC. But I was picturing the AC cover on a MG game. Carry on.flex wood wrote:I'm going to guess he's actually thinking of Assassins Creed: Liberation(?) Edit I mean a female of African American descent, or strong black woman that don't need no man, depending on your point of view. Even though I believe technically African American would be the wrong term for a black person from the Caribbean.

I plan to pick to pick this up around Black Friday for cheap. Love Platinum's games except Vanquish which didn't quite click. I should try playing it again.

Yeah, didn't totally click with me either but I think it was a mood thing. I'm pretty excited to retry it after getting through Rising. Wonder how the hilarity stacks up.CavZee wrote:I plan to pick to pick this up around Black Friday for cheap. Love Platinum's games except Vanquish which didn't quite click. For me, I loved Vanquish but it was Bayonetta that didn't click which is probably the polar opposite of most people.
It may have been my mood as well though. I've been meaning to give it another shot but I haven't gotten around to it.

No, I'm totally with you - I found Vanquish extremely cool and fun, but Bayonetta doesn't interest me at all. I actually think I got the latter game free as the former's pre-order bonus. It's still in the shrinkwrap.

Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
I'm definitely picking up the PC version when it comes out.
I haven't tried Bayonetta but it looks up my alley, as does Vanquish.
Too bad those two don't have PC ports.

Older. Not wiser.
Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Vanquish was more of a mood thing for me I'm sure, but Bayonetta?
Just bad, baaaad. Decent gameplay, but the onslaught of 5+ cutscenes in every level after every encounter/room, it definitely killed it for me after awhile. Just horrible pacing for an action game. The humor and characters didn't help at all either. It was just average, whereas Rising and Vanquish (I can probably tell) just have that awesome Arnold Schwarzenegger Predator level badassness to them.
Some people love it though, yeah. So who knows. I'm hoping 2 is the end and Kamiya can whip up something a bit more like Devil May Cry again down the road.

Always thought Bayonetta looked cheesy. I thought the Vanquish demo was pretty awesome though.
Re: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
It's not any cheesier than the opening cutscenes in Vanquish or anything in DMC. I think my problem with Vanquish was I was playing it too much like a typical third person peak-a-boo shooter instead of sliding around everywhere.Violent By Design wrote:Always thought Bayonetta looked cheesy.
