I've only played the demo version, but that was enough. It is bland, repetitive, and kind of ugly. The controls left a lot to be desired as well.

Nope, it's just a bit less popular than the rest of the consoles. I'm pretty sure it had its share of shitty spin-offs and licensed games

sorry to get OT, but Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town is definitely a better game. My wife and I bought both of these last Christmas. Santa Claus is definitely a very generic platformer with no real challenge, but it does offer 2-Player co-op, and some nice visuals and music for the holiday season.

Since when has Bomberman been a Nintendo franchise? It was developed by Hudson soft (=PC Engine), the first game came out on MSX and the best known Bomberman game is on the Saturn.
Pretty sure there have been more a LOT more Bomberman titles on Nintendo consoles than on any other...

The worst game from this generation I have played is hands down army of two. I don't even know if I made it through the first mission before ditching it. The "bro" main characters were terrible and it was just plain not fun.

Runner up for me is prototype, bad graphics, horrible cut scenes/voice acting and bland gameplay. It also cane out right about the same time as infamous, and we can all agree which was better.

The fact that a game with such nonsensical and poorly written plot, bad characters and extreme linearity is given a free pass because it looks pretty and has the name "Final Fantasy" in it is insulting to the JRPG genre.
It's style over substance, a reason why both mainstream WRPGs and JRPGs are becoming increasingly bad. It's like saying that a shallow and materialistic woman who's a complete bitch to everyone around her is "just fine the way she is" because she's beautiful and popular. It sends a wrong message. The inside doesn't matter as long as you look great.
noiseredux wrote: I think that's everyone's issues in this thread. FFXIII might be a bad FF game to you, but it's not a bad game. Forever is a bad Duke Nukem, but not really a bad game. Etc.
That's why I said "If we're looking at functional and polished games" before mentioning FF XIII

Yeah, but no one cares about Saturn or TG-16 outside of big time nerds like us. Met plenty of people who are big into bomberman and never even thought to check out the Sega Saturn one.

I personally find Bomberman boring anyway.

It's from earlier in the generation, but Too Human. I loved Blood Omen, the MGS remake, and Eternal Darkness but Silicon Knights really let me down with this one. Shoddy camera, mediocre graphics, lame story and 9 years in development hell, ick.

I avoid any kind of shovelware or obviously terrible looking games in general, but these are the worst games this generation from a technical standpoint that I've played in length.

Just atrocious to the point of not being fun in any way. Good material to laugh at if you're with friends, but that is it. I'm sure there is even worse, but yeah, usually I am pretty selective with what new games I play.

As for FF XIII, from a technical standpoint (which I think is what the thread is getting at) it's not bad obviously. But from a game design perspective, there are several things that could be criticized pretty heavily, and fairly. I realize there are lots of fans, people enjoyed it, etc. But fun =/= quality.
