No. Less than half the power.

I found one, but the reset button does not work. Seller already said they tried cleaning the button contacts.

You think this would be a hard problem to fix?

Hard to tell, could be an easy fix, but switch might also require replacement.

The button inside is a sealed thing. You can try to squirt contact cleaner in it and press it a bunch in the hopes that is shifts any crap, but that's not really a servicable part without soldering on a new switch. Like the 7800 power switch I had to tear open to see how bad it was inside, then soldered on a replacement.

I got no soldering equipment nor skill. Does anyone on this website do such small services?

While that one should be fixed by someone, it should be someone local. Buying it and paying to ship it 2 ways just for a reset button is not cost effective. The reset button isn't super important.

I'd mix it with other small services if you have to ship. Ideas like a JP region switch.

Hmmm, have you guys ever ran into a reset button that could not be repaired? Or can most reset buttons be repaired fairly easily?

I might try to win this Genesis 2 VA4. But like I said, the reset button is broken. And the metal plates on the bottom are rusted, so it might go for cheap while it still comes with controllers and an AC adapter.

Even though I won't have immediate plans to fix a reset button, I will like to know I can in the future.

It isn't exactly a common problem. I can only think of 1 non functional reset button out of all the hundreds of consoles that have crossed my path. A reset button will just be soldering in a new one if it's the button itself, just have to find a matching or suitable replacement.

Thanks for the info guys.

Along with a reset button fix, if I were to get a Japanese region mod on a Model 2 Genesis, would I still be able to play my American games? Just a rough estimate on costs (if i were to pay shipping both ways and parts and labor)?
