oh.

I personally like having the DLC access from the title itself, rather than going through a store interface that might have gotten completely redone to be much slower because some idiot thinks it needs to be more "modern".

yeah, I fought him for a good hour and a half. Got close a couple of times, but its' rough. I know his weakness, but I'm ill-prepared. Only one of my characters has that attack. I'm feeling like I'm prob gonna need to do some grinding here, maybe even head back to the apothecary and get something to regen MP. It's def a pain. But at the same time, I know I could just drop it to Easy for this battle, but I really don't want to. Once I got past the difficult opening of the game, I feel like Easy doesn't seem so alluring anymore. The challenge feels so rewarding.

If you drop to "Easy" I definitely won't play along  Suck it up!

Grinding won't help that much with him. Best bet would be to fill your party with demons that have the right spell. If you hit his weakness with all four characters you get 8 turns to his 1 or 2.

The point I was trying to make is that I have zero desire to drop it to Easy. Before I played the game, I think in my mind I was thinking that although I had heard it was really difficult, at least Easy was there as a safety net if I needed it. But having played through the first two hours of brutality, and then another four hours where I started to feel really comfortable and have a solid party I realized that those first two hours were super rewarding. As such, the difficulty (and in turn, reward for getting through the difficulty) is part of the experience for me. It's part of what I do love about this game. So dropping to Easy is just out of the question for me now.

Yeah 'grinding' is probably the wrong word. What I was thinking was if I head back to town I can stock up supplies I might need (stuff to raise MP or heal Sick, for instance) and along the way recruit some more Demons - and inevitably earn more experience. Sort of 'grind by accident.'

Yeah it's Bufu, I just was avoiding saying what it was in case anyone wasn't there yet and it was a spoiler. But I'm pretty sure every one of us has made it this far now.

BTW, last night I fused a Mothman. Seriously dudes, Mothman is in this game. Strong candidate for GOTY for me.

Yeah fill up your slots and then start fusing to get better demons and get one that is around your level and has Bufu. I remember Frost Jack being a good one for me there. I think he is level 18 or so though, so not sure how close you are to that.

I look at Minotaur as sort've your graduation test from the tutorial. If you can figure out hoe to build your stock of demons and beat him, then you should do fine for the majority of the game. Grinding isn't really necessary at all.
