yeah dude i think they are, i was looking at those same ones, i tried to play the genesis last night with rf and gosh it stinks..lol

I modded my megadrive for the 50/60Hz switch, the jap/eng switch, the RCA outs and I bought an RGB scart lead.
The RCA video out is a step up from the RF.
The RGB scart however makes a world of difference, its excellent. The difference has to be seen to be believed

Those look right. The model 1 has a larger connection. The model 2 connector is around s-video size. If you want stereo sound, run a stereo headphone to rca cable from your model 1's headphone out to your L & R audio in's on your stereo or tv. (or into a sega cd). Then adjust the little fader for volume level.
