FYI, I enjoyed ZombiU far more than The Last of Us. Both are great games, and The Last of Us is obviously far more popular with critics, but ZombiU is nothing to turn your nose up at.RCBH928 wrote:@Kdub
With stuff like the Last of Us being released for ps3 who wants to play ZombieU . The games are very weak and it explains the slow sales.

3DS cases are white, while DS cases are black or clear, depending on your region. Are they not white in the states?ZeroAX wrote:At least this time they changed the color of the game boxes. The 3DS just switched the side of the logo

I don't think ZeroAX knows what 3DS cases are like in the States.emwearz wrote:3DS cases are white, while DS cases are black or clear, depending on your region. But he did leave off the important distinction that 3DS cases are thinner and lighter.

DS cases were like mini Gamecube boxes, and 3DS cases are like mini Wii boxes.MrPopo wrote:I don't think ZeroAX knows what 3DS cases are like in the States.emwearz wrote:3DS cases are white, while DS cases are black or clear, depending on your region. Well, if anything, the difference between DS and 3DS cases is even more pronoucned over here in Europe.MrPopo wrote:I don't think ZeroAX knows what 3DS cases are like in the States.emwearz wrote:3DS cases are white, while DS cases are black or clear, depending on your region. PAL DS cases are clear instead of white like 3DS cases, and they're also roughly twice as deep (a little less than the depth of 2 US DS cases stacked on top of one another), so they look quite different.

Can't believed I missed this terrible argument based on heavy bias. ZombiU was a very solid experience and certainly worth a play. Last Of Us was great as well and I enjoyed it but it wasn't so good that no other games can stand up to it.Reprise wrote:FYI, I enjoyed ZombiU far more than The Last of Us. Thats a less reason to get the Wii Uemwearz wrote:It was a mutliplat, released on Wii U, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, Vita. Only the first is Nintendo Exclusive.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Epic Mickey 2 is on Xbox as well fyi.
@ZeroAX
I think the main reason that the Wii U is undistinguishable is the Wii became a brand name for the gaming device that accepts motion controls as input. When you say Wii U and see you are still using motion control they dont get whats new, maybe they think its an update or add on especially when you show the old Wiimote and next to it a tablet. Maybe people think the tablet add-on is called WiiU.
Obviousely XboxOne is different from 360 , and PS4 the number clearly states its the next thing . Its used every where from games, software, movies and maybe music so people understand that grading system.
The unnoticeable graphics jump in screenshot ads is not helping either , I follow videogames daily and still can't tell if a game is a Wii U or Wii. Then again, this is an issue with all next-gen systems I think while not so much in the days of psx->ps2 .
@Kdub
I will be honest I didn't play that game but my friend who owns a Wii U said it wasn't anything worth while and I believe another confirmed. I also saw someone play it and I found it kind of mediocre . The game might be good on its own, but personally I compare new games with what is else in the market. You give me Last of Us on my 6 year old console or should I buy new hardware to play ZombiU?? I think thats what most people are thinking...we have to keep in mind that people's money are finite and they have to make the decision where would they put that $60 at.

Speaking of console vs handheld cases ... Nintendo always seems to replicate some form of their current console game cases to the handheld that releases after the system.
Sony seems to do the opposite. The handheld game cases are precursors to the next console's game cases.
I think it could be related to corporate culture thinking in phases. But I'm not sure.
Also, there's a few exclusive Wii U games (Scribblenauts' and Tank Tank Tank are console exclusives):
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Game & Wario
Lego City Undercover
New Super Mario Bros. U & New Super Luigi U
Nintendo Land
Pikmin 3
Tank! Tank! Tank!
ZombiU
and that's just what's currently out.
By the end of the year (over the next three months) it'll also have:
Sonic Lost World
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze
Super Mario 3D World
The Wonderful 101
Scribblenauts Unmasked
After the first year of a console's release where the worst exclusive games are Tank Tank Tank and Game & Wario (2 games out of 13 exclusives) that's not a particularly pathetic lineup (It's not particularly below average either). And I didn't even count Monster Hunter of Zelda even though they are essentially new games.
The number of "ports" on the system isn't very high, either, there's about 5 total. The rest are just multi-platform releases.
I think the system will reach some sort of critical mass soon, at least for the gaming crowd where people on the fence will throw down for it. As for other random people ... that's not going to happen until the price comes down and there's bundles that don't have zombie faces on the box.

It's a decent number of exclusives, but games that are 'exclusive' are naturally overrated. How much is an exclusive worth if you can get a similar game experience elsewhere? I have a Wii, and I have Super Mario Bros Wii and DKCR, so looking at their sequels which are safely with in the mold of their predecessors doesn't really feel like a unique experience, if that makes sense.

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Honestly since 3rd party titles are now getting decent PC ports again, those exclusives are worth more to me than the exclusive titles of Sony and MS. I just wish Square would get it's head out of its ass and port its games to the PC.
