I like to see the games you play and beat.

I was looking to buy those 2 Star Wars games just because I like any of those (the SW arcade games and X-Wing/Tie Fighter on the PC), are they real easy to get into and are they more arcade than sim?

I have SC2, I really need to play it

I have F-Zero Maximum Velocity and I don't play it all that much because it's too hard, I hear GP Legend is a bit easier?

THPS 2 on the GBA looks REALLY good. If I can beat the DC port in 30 days I probably could beat that one too.

I'm gonna butt in and throw out my opinions on some of your questions here

The Rogue Squadron games are much more arcadey than sim, but definitely worth playing. Don;t start with rebel strike, it's the weakest in the series.

F-Zero GP Legend is definitely easier than Maximum Velocity, and is probably my favourite 2D F-Zero so far (I've not played Climax).

I've beaten two games over the past few days: Just Cause 2 and Max Payne 3, both on PC.

Just Cause 2 looked amazing. It also may be the largest game I've ever played, in terms of the in-game map. Flying from one end of the map to the other by jet can take several minutes, and I imagine it would take hours to walk that same distance. Thank goodness for the black market extractions. I finished the campaign in 15 hours, with 26.99% completion. I enjoyed my time with Just Cause 2 but there's no way I'm going for 100%.

Max Payne 3 didn't seem as much like a Max Payne game as the first two. For example, it takes place mostly during the day in Brazil, and there are no drug/dream scenes. The difference between Max Payne 2 and 3 is similar to the difference between Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Double Agent, except that Max Payne 3 was still fun. You just have to accept it for what it is.

I think next I'll be moving on to Halo 4, since it's sitting on my shelf still unplayed.

I beat Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction last night (technically this morning but w/e).

I got it with my PS3 a few years ago and didn't like it for some reason, but figured I'll probably sell it soon so I may as well give it another chance. I ended up really liking it, it's not exactly a brilliant game but it's very fun and looks lush, glad I gave it another chance. Might check out a couple other games in the series in the future.

Personally I love the changes they made for 3. I consider it the best in series and one of the best games I played last year.

Yep. I would describe it as Tony Scott made a videogame with Max Payne and no regard for the previous entries.

Thank you for your contributions; I've been picking Luke's brain as well as his Games Beaten list because he has a great focus on Nintendo lately and also seems to be into the same kind of games as me

*New* Shinovi Versus

Games Beaten:
1. Thomas Was Alone - PC

3. Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space - The whole season - PC, GOG versions
4. Sam & Max The Devil's Playhouse - Episode 1 - PC, GOG version
5. Sam & Max The Devil's Playhouse - Episode 2 - PC, GOG version
6. Sam & Max The Devil's Playhouse - Episode 3 - PC, GOG version
7. The Walking Dead Series - PC
8. Sly Thieves in Time - PS3

14. Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack - Vita

18. Nun Attack - Vita
19. Hotline Miami - Vita
20. Bloodrayne Betrayal - PS3
21. Fist Puncher - PC (DRM free from Desura)
22. Deadpool - 360
So knowing that I would want to start playing Dragon's Crown this week, I finished up my remaining trophies in Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus this past Monday. If anyone's seen my previous posts on this game, the first one was pretty positive and the second was me ranting and bitching. I've definitely developed a love/hate relationship with this game

At the end of the day, it's a game I'd recommend to any Vita owner who likes beat 'em ups if you can find a way to get it at a reasonable price. It's flawed, and not exactly a must play Vita title, but I did find it to be fun at times. Interestingly enough, the same week that I finally put the game to rest it's announced that another entry in the series is getting localized for the 3DS eshop, which seems like a miracle given how racy these games are(and on a Nintendo system no less!). Apparently, they made a ton of money off Shinovi Versus in Japan

Guitar Hero: Metallica.

I had fun, but I'm disappointed in the lack of Garage Inc. covers.

probably licensing issues? Easier to pay Metallica for the game than to pay Metallica plus a bunch of other bands?

Are you a fan of the series in general? I've always found them fun. 2 and 3 were the best to me. But 5 is definitely good.

On the other hand, I thought Warriors of Rock was horrible. I said this about it when I beat it:
Possibly the only time I've ever beaten a game because I hated it and didn't want to give it the satisfaction of beating me. My wife and I played through this over the course of three weekends. Compared to previous GH games, it's a piece of shit. There are baffling inclusions (you play guitar to the piano parts of "Bohemina Rhapsody"!) and a completely terrible selection of songs that I feel like would appeal to no particular audience. A lot of the songs are so badly programmed, that you have to try to NOT listen to the rhythm so as to play the song right. Neversoft's suites of Rush and Megadeth have also made me believe that they are sadistic assholes. Fuck you Warriors of Rock.
