The Making of Final Fantasy VI - Interesting interview

Interesting article. I never thought about it but it's true that the characters feel like they have come from different sources if you think about it. Plus the fact that the game's co-director and story planner created Celes might be the reason she took a bigger role in the game than the rest of the cast

I was disappointed there was no mention of Kefka though :/

Interesting how with such limited time they were able to push out such a great product. 30 days to translate the whole thing? That's an enormous undertaking, especially to do it as well as they did.

Every time I read an article on 6 though, I feel like posting this one:

http://thegamedesignforum.com/features/ ... ff6_1.html

Overwhelming look into just how much effort went into each detail of the game. (And Kefka is mentioned plenty) The music section alone is definitely worth the read.

Dude that's not an article on FF6, it's a Master Thesis on it :D . I'll give it a read as soon as possible.

It goes to show you how little of a crap the western distributors gave about the product. You wonder what was going through their heads, if they just thought the it didn't really matter and the game would or wouldn't sell regardless of a decent translation or if they simply didn't comprehend how much text that needed translating was in the damn thing. It was just a video game after all, what do you mean story?

Finished reading it. Amazing article. I especially love his analysis of how much each character talks in the game, and how great the WoR was structured. This makes me want to restart playing FF VI all over again

I approve of this topic, but i wish FFVI was given as many remakes as FFIV had, FFIV had a DS remake, a PSP remake + an extended after-the-thought story, but yet FFVI triumphs it in every way.

I dont want a full 3D remake for FFVI, just something along the lines of the PSP version, the DS version took it too far imo.

Not sure what SE is thinking these days, guess they are just trying to move forward with the industry, hence why they publish so much now and develop less.

A remake of FFVI on Vita would be ideal.
