Re: Dragon's Crown
I figured this one out. You have to equip spells and such as you would equipment and use them just like you were swapping items.flex wood wrote:I can't figure out how to use the spells I've gotten with my skill points. Can anyone explain this to me?
Edit hey ninja you have to play a couple of hours before you can unlock coop I think. Don't quote me on that though.

Yea but you have to get to a certain point first I am pretty sure because I haven't found any way to do it yet. Maybe evil ryu knows since I think he's been playing longer then me.ninjainspandex wrote:really? I thought this was an arcady beat em up.

I started playing as the Elf archer. I quite like the game so far. It's gorgeous even on the little Vita screen. I would like to get the PS3 version since some of you will be playing that version, but I don't know yet if it'll fit into my budget, particularly because I'm already dead set on buying Ducktales Remastered and Charlie Murder next week. I'm putting money aside for those.

The art book's quite nice, more impressive than the one for Fire Emblem Awakening.

Yeah, that one was like the Xenoblade one, done by Nintendo. This one is done in the more typical Atlus style.Gamerforlife wrote:The art book's quite nice, more impressive than the one for Fire Emblem Awakening.

Well, nobody has it in stock. I didn't even know that the two closest GameStops to my house have shut down. I'll just wait until somebody stocks it. I picked up Tales of Xillia, though.

Re: Dragon's Crown
Oh Christ, the addiction is setting in. I sunk a few hours into this today, not even moving the story along. Just replaying levels, buying skills, trying out other classes, and doing side quests. My favorite side quest so far is Beast Master, which is essentially a whole level that plays like Golden Axe, with you riding an animal that looks like He-Man's Battle cat. I had a dwarf as one of my AI partners. Later in the level, he hopped on a dinosaur and rode it with his arms folded in front of him...LIKE A BOSS!
I hate all the criticism about the over sexualization of the characters. This stuff is all about comedy. The run animation for the sorceress where she holds her hat as her boobs flop around in front of her is hilarious. This stuff isn't meant to be offensive, just funny. Some of the comments left by dead characters whose bones you find is funny too. Things like, "Damn, can't use that potion now." or "How does my clavicle taste?" This game isn't trying to be taken seriously, just like most old school, arcade beat 'em ups.
Where it does take itself seriously though, is the gameplay. Cool little things that add depth I've discovered so far:
*You can knock objects over onto enemies...or allies
*Fire magic doesn't work if you're standing in water
*Some enemies are weak to certain things, like fire on giant spiders, or ground slides on snakes
*Food only gives you health if you have time to actually eat it, which means you can't heal in the thick of battle
*Smart ally AI. They'll ALWAYS heal, pick up weapons you ignore, jump onto ridable animals, follow you as you avoid traps, and can cut rank and file fodder with no trouble
*Your thief will automatically pick up money for you if you don't do it yourself
*You can't attack enemies that are under water until they surface
*You can order allies to drop weapons or get off an animal...and use it yourself

I like the narrator. It adds a nice touch like how the D&D DLC for Borderlands 2 did: adds the feeling of having a DM.
