When I went from the original MGS3 to Subsistence, I seriously couldn't tell the difference at all at the time. Static camera's never really bother me... lol.

I just like MGS4 though. Good story (i found it interesting shh) I liked the gameplay, amazing visuals and soundtrack was good too.

I didn't mind the story in MGS3, it had interesting themes overall.. but MGS4 pushed all my wrong buttons. Insanely long cutscenes with the cheesy voice-acting and awkward character choreography took their toll.. I just wanted more gameplay because I liked what little of it there was. Finally, in the epilogue Kojima totally lost the plot. It was the most cringe-inducing material I witnessed in a long, long time.

Still, I like PlatinumGames' output so this game is definitely on my list.

Though it's short it's incredibly fun. The bosses are suitably over the top (especially the last one, holy shit) and I can't think of a single moment when I was bored.

I'm not a big fan of Metal Gear so a lot of the story went way over my head but it was still passable. From what I have played of Metal Gear games though the atmosphere and writing fits pretty well into the universe even if the gameplay doesn't. There's also still at least some stealth elements if you want but honestly it's just funner to charge in and cut things up.

Platinum Game's Vanquish is one of my favorite action games of this generation so I was looking forward to Metal Gear Rising and it didn't disappoint.

My only complaints would be that it ends a bit too soon, the last few levels are really short so it causes the game to lose some steam, and the camera is really spastic.

This game is coming to Windows, along with the DLC I believe. Is it me or does it lack a dodging maneuver?

Greatest final boss ever.

Period.

Need to go back and play through all of Vanquish now, can't wait.

But yeah Konami is taking survey's and such on what fans would like in an ideal sequel, so hopefully they get Platinum again and put even more resources and stuff into it. I can definitely see this becoming a nice line of spinoffs. I don't know if I want it to ever tie in more to the real MGS stuff, without Kojima, but they could certainly invest in better writers... then again the B-grade charm gives it so much personality. Hard to say, haha.

As everyone would agree though, a meatier game would have been even better. So it was a bit brief and only had minor extras like a few VR missions, etc.

Is this the one with the girl as the main character? I've barely played MG games but I love my Vita and I'm looking for stuff to play.

I'm going to guess he's actually thinking of Assassins Creed: Liberation(?) The one on the vita where you play as the black chick.

Edit I mean a female of African American descent, or strong black woman that don't need no man, depending on your point of view. Even though I believe technically African American would be the wrong term for a black person from the Caribbean.
