Definetly. Just seeing Batman go toe-to-toe with Supes with those Kryptonite knuckles would be awesome.Luke wrote:BurningDoom wrote: From what I understand, they're using the fight scene between Superman and Bats in Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns as inspiration. If Batman utters anything close to "Remember this moment, and remember that I am the man that broke you" even I would get nerdy chillies. I so want the sequel to have much more substance.

Well, for me, I've come to really appreciate the movie because it reminds me of my Grandpa in many ways. (Racism and all.) Because of that, I really like the movie.Jmustang1968 wrote:I really enjoyed Gran Torino and I am a big Eastwood fan. However, it doesn't strike me as a movie I want to watch more than once or twice.

Haha, have you watched the animated movies of DKR? The voice acting could've used some work but they weren't bad. They kept super close to the comic.Luke wrote:BurningDoom wrote: From what I understand, they're using the fight scene between Superman and Bats in Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns as inspiration. They did extend ending fight scene though which was a little corny.

Just saw Give em' Hell Malone. I love the style of the movie. It's a mix of old and knew mafia /action movie. The language and dressing reminded me of 1930's Scarface style with enemies similar to Scott Pilgrim vs the World but in a darker tone. I felt like it ended abruptly though. It's a definite watch plus the heroine is damn hot. It was kind of a trip is you will. B-

REVENGE OF THE NERDS
Had a friend over last night and out of the hundreds of movies I have, he eyeballed Nerds in a second. It's a classic.
edit* "Disney to lose $190 MILLION on Lone Ranger:
The news of the write-down comes one day after Depp and Hammer told Yahoo U.K. that it was critics’ vindictive skewering of the film that caused a weak box office run. “I think the reviews were written 7-8 months before we released the film,” said Depp. Hammer agreed, saying, “[Critics] jumped on the bandwagon to try and bash it. They tried to do the same thing to World War Z. It didn’t work, the movie was successful. Instead they decided to slit the jugular of our movie.”
Uh huh. Blame the critics.
The reason TLR wasn't a box office smash was poor marketing that didn't grab its target audience by their collective junk. The trailers stunk, and when people heard that they would basically be watching DEPP AS TONTO:THE MOVIE for three hours, no one cared.
Marketing by brand name only worked for Pirates of the Caribbean, and Disney foolishly thought the same would work for The Lone Ranger.
Solution! One easy simple solution: William Tell Overture. Had that been played during the trailer and shown more of the train sequence, rather than showing Tonto talk a lot, asses would have been in seats. They presented their product poorly, and that, not the critics, is why the movie failed financially.

If Disney would have played down Tonto, and played up the classic Lone Ranger, the movie could have doubled sales. Of course I can't prove that, but how many people saw the trailer and sarcastically thought "Great. Johnny Depp." ? It looked too polished for a Western, and seemed to grand in scope.
People expected the trailer to be full of cowboys and Indians on horseback, shooting each other with six shooters and bows and arrows. Instead we get a boring origin story and no William Tell. They totally failed at reminding people why they liked the Lone Ranger. I know I'm writing a diatribe, but pointing the finger at critics is ridiculous.

As someone too young to have watched The Lone Ranger as a kid and as someone who's generally disinterested in anything Johnny Depp is involved with, this movie wasn't even on my radar.
