I started re-watching Breaking Bad to catch up to season 5, and just as i'm in the middle of season 2, they added season 5 on Netflix. Perfect timing I'd say. Also it's a great show for those who haven't seen it.

I'm really liking Longmire. One of the few cop shows I'm willing to watch.

Been watching Sliders and Emergency on Netflix.
Emergency is from the 70s and has a nice retro vibe with simple stories packed with family morals. Plus the older tools and vehicles are awesome. My mom also enjoys it since she grew up watching it and always remember thinking my dad looked like one of the main characters John Gage.

I'm watching sliders since I remember catching bits and pieces of it when I was younger and I like Jerry O'Connell(Tom Cats is still one of my favorite comedies
). Altogether it is a fun show to sit down and watch the variety of worlds they created are quite interesting.

My wife and I don't get a ton of time to ourselves right now because of our kids so we rarely get to sit down and watch anything current. Also, trying to get a 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl to agree on what to watch can be mind numbing, but they generally both like stuff I grew up with, which is a huge plus for me.....anything Hanna-Barbera really.
We've been watching a LOT of older Scooby Doo episodes. I plan on purchasing the old Pac Man cartoons as well.

Just watched the Burn Notice series finale, kind of disappointed. They had a very strong season because it had many shades of grey, and there was potential for them to end the series in an unexpected way, but the ending sort of went against everything they spent the whole season building up and ended things in a rather predictable, formulaic way. Many fans will love it I'm sure. It was full of call backs, good guys winning, an obligatory death, people declaring their love and pretty much just gave you what the average fan probably expected and wanted, but I wanted something more interesting. Joss Whedon said something once regarding how he writes his shows. He said, “Don't give people what they want, give them what they need." It's what makes much of his work memorable. He doesn't just go for the predictable, make everybody happy resolutions to his stories. Burn Notice was very much a, "what they want" ending. You could have predicated everything that happened at the beginning of the season, because it was all so easy.
This is also what elevates shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and The Wire, they surprise you. They go against tropes and conventions and take the story in the most interesting direction, not the easiest one

Sliders is one of my all-time favorite shows! (Seasons 1-3, at least) Admittedly, they could have done better. But at the same time, it was still pretty dang good for the time. It didn't have the budget of the Star Trek or Stargate shows, but despite that they still manage to create some cool worlds in that show. Well, at least until Sci-Fi Channel took the show over from FOX, then everything went downhill quickly.Fragems wrote:Been watching Sliders and Emergency on Netflix.
