What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Ticked - Big change at corporate means they "forgot" to tell us about a workflow change, so I spent the last six hours doing work from last month that was all very overdue. It also means I get to drive four hours tonight, down to Atlanta to train my coworkers on how to do this, then drive four hours back tomorrow night. And I still have to keep up with my standard work. My wife is also sick and somehow I got a giant knot on my head last night and it is very painful.

Smiled - Atleast they are paying for the gas.

Speaking of which, was Retrodude serious when he said he was done with the forum? I haven't seen him on here since.

:( I kinda understand people's frustration with the forums. There have been a lot of "Facts" and "Truths" that are getting thrown around. A lot of people want to be right at any cost, even on subjects that don't seem to matter. I tend to just ignore the majority of it and enjoy my time here, which I still do, but you can't help but see some people arguing and fighting over semantics.

:) In my government class we watched a film entitled, "Key Constitutional Concepts." I know that doesn't sound very exciting, but I was surprised to hear the dulcet tones of 3-Dog from Fallout 3 narrating it.

You used the word 'bitch' in reference to a woman, which is big no no for Luke.
This isn't a diatribe and isn't meant to single anyone out. Besides this part: SamMan, your avatar could cause a seizure. It's obnoxious.

I also need to (you guessed it) mow my lawn so I will be keeping a close look at my clock and will try to post this before 3:30pm est.

Keep in mind that I'm a happily married man, have definitely had my share of experiences with women that I do not care for, and I do not consider every woman a princess or a good human being. I also have a foul mouth at times, but something happened recently that opened my eyes a bit. Take it for what it is worth.

When the Philly Eagle's Riley Cooper said "I'll fight all those Ni**as" people lost their shoes and minds. "Bad Cooper. Bad bad bad". Yet if he said "I'll fight all those bitches" no one would give a second take. It wouldn't be on every paper, and it wouldn't be national news. Shouldn't it be? Semantics for sure, but I find the use of the word bitch, in a certain connotation of course, to be more offensive than the word nigger.

Over the span of our collective lives on Earth, who has been more oppressed? A race, or an entire sex? Who still suffers from more oppression today? It's obvious that women are still being trafficked, beaten, raped, and in more places than you can count are treated as second class citizens

"Slut", "Bitch", "Whore", etc., I don't like when people use those words to classify a woman. Those words are intended to hurt their feelings, and they work. Don't be a dick and try to insult someone. Idiots exist, but you don't need to put them down.

Man, I missed it by one minute.

has it gotten that bad? i have been gone for a while and just logged on again today, so im very out of the loop. if it's truly like this I would be disappointed considering i joined this forum not only due to my love of all things retro gaming, but also the community that was always very adult about such conversations.

Dave and the movie thread HAD to have something to do with his absence.

Hope retro isn't gone for good. He is bonkers, but super civil.

TBQH other than that batshit insane thread about feminism and Retrodude pulling his usual antics I'm honestly not sure what you guys are talking about.
