Post by ninjainspandex »

I got some chinese bootleg megadrive carts unfortunately their labels are total crap so i was going to put the PCBs into some old sport game shells. anyone have or can make labels for the following games in a sega genesis north american format?

Zero Wing
Panarama Cotton

Thanks in advance

Got those carts from the Korean seller named AliciaDragoon, right?

Funny, I thought the exact same when I bought a few carts from him and also bought some dog shit tier Genesis games in hopes of doing a swap some time down the line.

I would also be interested to know of a good way to do this. I am also interested in good sources for covers as well.

I suppose if you could find high resolution scans of labels in question you could print them all out on a A4 sticker sheet and cut them out yourself.

Nah I got them from onyxthecat from china, the pcbs fit perfectly in a regular genesis cart so i thought this would be a cheap way to get repros if i can find high quality labels. Anyone know a good methhod for removing cart labels from old sports games? I was thinking of maybe boiling the shells, but would that melt the plastic?

I think you can use a hair dryer to gently heat the label and then the glue will soften so you can peel it off. Either that or just use goo gone.

Well i don't have any use for a hairdryer so that would probably not be worth it to buy one, maybe I can bum one off a neighbor.

Goo gone is pretty cheap and it is useful in general for a collector. I say go with that instead.

Put the cart where your PC power supply fan is blowing the warm air on it. Else put the shell outside in the sun on the patio for a bit and it will warm up enough that should help. Heck, or leave them in your car for a while in the middle of the afternoon.

It'd melt the cart in a city like Houston.

 i'm going to try boiling it on very low heat, I'll let you know how that goes. Now i just need to find a source of labels. Sorry to keep bumping the thread maybe i should'nt of put it in BST but i was looking to buy labels from someone and it kind of spun off in another tangent, if a mod wants to move it to a more appropriate section be my guest
