What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I'd agree with you had it been a huge warehouse for electronics but in this instance EVERYONE dealing with costumers needs to know what they sell.
If the shop is that small, its probably a family sized business, or some small time buddies or some such. Mighta hired their girlfriend or wife or sister or whoever just so she could get some cash or something.

The point is, their was no reason to call her a bitch.

I'd be awful suspicious of any man who will claim to know whats wrong with my car before he looks at it. Either he's a lying bastard, or he's freaking amazing. And in the car business, the former is more likely.

She just answered the phone. They are job positions where you might need to answer the phone, but not necessarily know the business. Heard of a receptionist before?

I still think it's hilarious that you'd expect a game system repair shop in 2013 to have staff with knowledge and materials to repair a handheld that saw its final from factor released over a decade ago and which can no longer be purchased new at retail. Why should they know how to repair SPs? Training someone to repair them, researching their problems, ordering parts for one customer, etc. seems like a waste of time and resources when 99% of your customers are bringing in RRODs, YLODs, or cracked DS/3DS screens.
I understand if they don't repair the system but they should at least know what a Gameboy Advance Sp is. I mean come on, my grandma knows what a Gameboy is. Also not being able to buy them new is a great reason to have knowledge about it. As they can't just buy a new one people will be more tendent to repair it.

Frown: The strikers 1945 cart that came with my Neo Geo MVS is toast, so I'll be down ~$90 to replace that.

Smile: That means the motherboard in my cab should be fine. I'm not too horribly upset since I got the cab for an absolute steal. I also scored neo turf masters and metal slug 2 locally today :)

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

I'm not sure what a gameboy is either...maybe you mean a Game Boy?

Moving from being a dick to being really serious, grow up a little. Being someone who works in a video game store with a woman I can tell you if you presented that attitude and blatant sexism because she was unsure on what system you meant, I'd ban you from ever returning. I wouldn't even have to really think about it.

She could be a big gamer but only got into modern games in the last few years, and she could be a grade A employee. So these people who own this establishment keep her around because she is enthusiastic about the subject and does her job well. Then some mouth breather gets all bent out of shape because her knowledge isn't up to your meaningless standards?

Even if none of that is true... stop being an insensitive, sexist prick.

I don't care if it was a man, women, transsexual, whatever. All I say is know what you sell. It wouldn't have been sexist had i called a man a bitch.

This thought alone...
Automatically assuming she was hired for her looks, calling her a bitch because she didn't meet your gaming standards. You can't just pretend like that isn't what you said or how you felt now.

It is regardless if it was a man or a woman, I would have called either a bitch. I meant it as a insult and not a derogatory term. I'm not justifying what I said only explaining myself, although I know it won't change your stance. Also, I'm sorry for expecting a person working at a gaming related store to know about the absolute basics gaming. I guess that's a radical theory only accepted by me.

Why do I get the feeling that you call things that you think are stupid 'gay' too?

Repairing several generation old systems is absolute gaming basics now? But you don't know it. Now maybe they maybe could know a little more info, but I'd really only expect techs who work in the back to know the nuts and bolts stuff.
