Need help making a Utopia Dreamcast Boot Disc

Post by KoLAddict »

So my buddy has a Godzilla game that's from Japan he has been wanting to play on his Dreamcast, so I told him about the Utopia Boot Disc. He tried making one and it didn't work. I followed the instructions myself and I made a disc image of it, but it also didn't work. Our Dreamcasts are both old enough that it should work, so we determined we must be burning it incorrectly. The only guides we've found are "Download Utopia, download program to burn it (can't think of the name off the top of my head), then burn Utopia using program". Apparently we're doing something wrong so we need something broken down further, lol. If we can get this working he'll be able to play his Godzilla, and I'll be able to start buying and playing import titles myself.

Utopia doesn't work with everything. Try DC-X.

Are you using 'too cheap' CDRs? Are you burning slow, as in 12x or slower if possible? But yeah, some games won't work with Utopia. I'm sure there are compability lists floating out there somewhere.
