Re: Together Retro: TMNT - Turtles In Time
I'm in like Flynn!
I love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'll be playing Hyperstone Heist tonight on my Sega Genesis. I'll probably hit up Turtles in Time on my SNES next.
I don't have XBLA (or a 360 for that matter), but I'd like to play online. What are my options? Is there an emulator that allows me to play Turtles in Time online? Is there a PC version of Re-Shelled?

Re: Together Retro: TMNT - Turtles In Time
Hyperstone Heist is a remix of Turtles in Time with some of the earlier arcade games. It's shorter and the gameplay itself is a little faster. It's not as colorful as TiT, as you would expect, but the sound is surprisingly good.
Like I said it's not a very long game and it is a lot of fun so it's worth playing through if you like any of the Turtles beat'em ups.

I only have Hyperstone Heist so I will play through that this month.
I never grabbed Re-Shelled since I didn't have a PS3 until after it was removed from PSN. Why was it removed again?

I've played Turtles in Time on the SNES countless times and love it. I have no problem running through it again, but I don't have my SNES hooked up so I'll probably use an emulator. Here's a tip for all of you, learn the power slam move. It's the one where the turtle grabs a guy's arm and slams him back and forth. It's the best move in the game and essential if you want to beat the game on just one life. Just get really close to a foot soldier after you attack him, then hold up or down and hit attack again. I've beaten the game on one life many times abusing that move, even on hard difficulty. It's a one hit kill on any foot soldier and will cause collateral damage to any nearby foot soldiers as well.
I don't know if I want to play the arcade version. It's quite a bit harder than the SNES version from the little bit I played of it once.
I would like to try Hyperstone Heist. I played it once on an emulator but never finished it. It seemed a little bit more challenging than Turtles in Time as I recall, but not as insanely hard as the arcade version of Turtles in Time.
I would love to play Re-Shelled with some of you guys, even though I'm not a huge fan of it. Unfortunately, I only have the 360 version and don't have Xbox Live Gold. If I can get my hands on a free trial though....

As soon as I get my TV and consoles hooked back up, I think I'll be playing the SFC version.

Lukie Baby, have you played the arcade port on Nexus Mutant Nightmare yet? I unlocked it last night, and my first impression wasn't a good one. I knew about the music being changed, so that's whatever. But the emulation seemed really off to me. Like twitchy or laggy... I was using a wireless controller, so it's possible it was just an issue there. I'll try again (tonight prob) using just a standard DualShock.
Also, I should note that unless you have a Multitap, then your options are limited to only 2 turtles. Because it's a straight emu of the arcade ROM, you cannot select characters. Your character is determined by which port your controller is plugged into. So if you're using the 1st controller port, then you're Leonardo and so on.

Leonardo is my go to character, but I'm happy to play with any of 'em.

Yay! This should be fun. I haven't jumped on a TR yet, but this seems like a great one to start with.
TiT came out when I was a second grader and I played it like crazy. I haven't touched it for 15-20 years, so this ought to be a nice little trip down memory lane.
And I've never played through HH completely. But I managed to get that one out of a decent-sized trade (and it survived my attempts to unload it) so I'll give her a good once over.

Gamerforlife has it on XBLA.
Unfortunately I didn't own a 360 back when I decided to get Re-Shelled. But I'm guessing a lot of folks opted for the PSN version for the free online unfortunately.
But yeah we should do some kind of head-count, I could maybe throw a list up in the first post. Who has Re-Shelled on PSN? Who has it on XBLA? And what are your PSN/XBLA names?
