I am not a fan of using any mind altering drugs myself, even alcohol, but I don't care what people choose to do to themselves.
That said, I agree with Dave's concerns about legalization (especially #2 as with #1 I feel the same about cigarettes or smoking
anything around children) since they're the primary examples of marijuana endangering others.
If those are addressed and stuff like marijuana breathalyzers become a reality I don't see the problem.

Minus the drug cartels which are irrelevant you're making an argument for legalization since the government on the local, state and federal level is what's losing money paying most of these people.
Including the drug cartels isn't weakening them another good reason?
