well thats lame I thought it was included in the download and you could just access it whenever you want while you played the game. Nintendo needs to make a bit more effort on their Wii U there missing a huge opportunity to make the gamepad cool. like being able to access spells and moves from the gamepad or accessing inventory directly from the gamepad, much like DS RPGs like the chrono trigger port. Sure it would take a little bit of programming but don't tell me its that hard for Nintendo to do. Come on Nintendo give us a reason to by the virtual console games and not just use an emulator.

For a virtual console release? That's a hell of a lot more than a "little bit of programming."

You can access the guide whenever you want. Just load it up in the browser while you play the game and flip back and forth as necessary. You can use the browser just fine while games are running.

Yeeeeah, incorporating touch screen controls would probably warrant a remake.

That is exactly what they would have to do for every single game they released, port them. Hell of a lot of work compared to emulation, I don't think many people expect them to actually port their entire backlog. They are releasing Wii U games slow enough as it is, that would make the problem ten times worse.
