What's your favorite level on any game?
This takes everything into account, from visuals, to gameplay, to music, to that happy feeling you get when you reach the it.

Though a lot of the levels in the game are awesome in my opinion... of it my all time favourite:
Act 3 of Stardust Speedway in Sonic CD
The one when you race Mecha-Sonic while Robotnik chases you in his awesome looking hover pod. I'm sorry, but Sonic CD is the best visual representation of Sonic in my book. 1 was all right, 2 made eggman to comical in my book, 3 & K had an all right look, but CD... man I love CD.
After that Sonic just took on to much of a "slick cool guy" look. Sorry I liked the more serious look of CD. Man eggman really felt evil in that! Especially in Stardust Speedway, awesome visuals, really tough, and man the soundtrack. I personally love the US version and I sometimes played poorly just so I can spend my time in BAD FUTURE all time with its kick ass music!
Runner up in that is BAD FUTURE of Quartz Quadrant, any act. I never understood peoples rave about the JAP soundtrack, I listened to it and it sounded way to poppy and bleh... especially the really tacky intro song, oh God. Spencer Nilson made some awesome soundtracks for the Sega CD, Ecco 1 and 2, Jurassic Park, Batman & Robin, and Sonic CD all included!

Kind of a random one comes to mind, but I always liked the Electric Dragon level from Shinobi 3 on the Genesis. Anyone remember that? You ran through that place with all the heat waves distorting the background and mines exploding as you ran over them, then you had to go surfing, and then there was some other crazy crap. Topping it off was the Electric Dragon boss, which was pretty great.
My game-related blog.

I... I can't decide! Too many good platformer levels and RPG dungeons...
How about the falling ship level from the original Jedi Knight? Classic.
