Nothing is free. Even "Buy One get one Free" is bullsnot. You still have to buy something.

Laugh: Okay, this is juvenile, but there is a Woman's Business Owners convention called "In The Pink" being held in my town. Not "Pink Convention" or "Women of Business" it's called "In The Pink".

Call me crazy, but that doesn't sound empowering.
That convention has the makings of being a real shocker. See if your local waste management company can hold a convention twice as big next door just for the lulz.

Oh man, I can't even explain how I feel. It's almost as overwhelming. We're in the process of setting up an emergency fund next, for those lovely unexpected things that go wrong with the car/house/health. I want to spend some money on a few toys for all of us as some type of reward, but our reward is being out of debt. It's a hard lesson to learn, but I think I've finally learned it.

I always thought the same when shopping at Dillions. They have those yogurt "buy 20 for $10" deals. Why the hell would I need 20 of anything? But then again.. I have a kid who goes through about 2 a day... so ya know.

:D I woke up early snuggled up with the dog at my dads house.

:? She really should breathe more when she sleeps I always think that I've squished and killed her when I wake up. She does give me the cutest look when I start poking her and checking if she's alive though.

I think the term Dave was going for was minivan...

Hopefully there's no need to raise a stink once the initial shock has worn off.

:) / :( /  :

Yesterday, I got a call from my boss at Typhoon Lagoon. Apparently the park was closed yesterday, and they deployed me over to Casey's Corner over at Magic Kingdom (it's the hot dog place at Main Street).

But... I thought I'd be doing custodial work over there, and when I go to clock in I find out that I was deployed to work food & beverage, despite not having any training. I had to go to the coordinators' office and sort it out. Turns out that a lot of us Typhoon Lagoon custodians were deployed as greeters and the like. It also turned out that I'd need a new costume for that area (if you've been to Casey's Corner before, you are probably familiar with the old-timey baseball-style costumes they wear), and long story short ended up starting my shift about 90 minutes late.

My job was basically handing food to the guests at the counter, as well as filling their drinks. It started off by-Walt-Disney-World-standards slow, but soon the dinner rush came in and quickly turned into the ultra Dinner rush and things got hectic, which was right around the time of the parade they do after dark (The Electric Parade?), but right before my shift ended (at around 9:15), things started to slow down again.

In short, it was a new experience and I liked it. It was a nice change of pace from doing trash runs at Typhoon Lagoon. I was consistently busy and my inexperience in the field in question didn't hinder me as much as I though. But it was physically and emotionally exhausting. But I would LOVE to transfer to Food and Beverage when I get the chance, which I believe will be after my first six months, which should be around November or December IIRC.
