Best SCART cable for (RGB) SCART switchers?
Best SCART cable for (RGB) SCART switchers?
To put it bluntly, what are the best SCART cables to use for SCART switchers carrying RGB signals, or will any do?

i just use the cheap ones on ebay wih a thick looking cable. Never had a problem As long as all the pins match up.

That is helpful, thanks. Are those are the lowest you can go in terms of quality while still getting the best SCART transfer for RGB signals?Anapan wrote:i just use the cheap ones on ebay wih a thick looking cable. Never had a problem As long as all the pins match up.

I've tried a few and this is the one that I settled on.

Well, like I said, I just bought ebay cheap-shipping thick cables for my SCART-SCART patch cables. I'm pretty picky about video quality, but comparing several different brand/makes and lengths they all look great - I couldn't tell the difference. I've cut many VGA cables in half when they had slight signal noise, ghosting or color issues. None of the cheapest SCART patch cables I got degraded the quality in any way as far as I could tell. I only posted the link because I read some happy reviews of that brand. I guess 240P @ 15khz is low fidelity enough that even all my quality testing can't see any RF interference with the crappiest cables. I just decided to use the sortest patch cables I could get after moving my scalers and transcoders next to each other.

So, even if I've got 3 generic SCART cables, one higher quality than the others, they should all work fine?Anapan wrote:Well, like I said, I just bought ebay cheap-shipping thick cables for my SCART-SCART patch cables.
