Some people post cat pics.

Jinx posts pics of some bug that lives under his front porch.

If you're wondering why your server is down, it's because I did this while at work.

Just remembered there was a pet thread. I'll post there instead of annoying you guys with updates about my bugs.

Ticked - Somehow I hurt my side last night, I must have slept on it funny but it feels like I exercised it raw.

Smiled - A guy I knew in college who went off to be a big time programmer in the DOD world (he is the one who automated his job right out of college). Wrote a glowing review for me unrequested and sent it to me "just in case you needed this." I honestly didnt think that he thought that highly of me, and I havent talked to him a few months, but wow that makes you feel good. It looks good to have someone who has more than a dozen government acronyms associated with their name...

Which side (or both?) and upper or lower (or both)? Pain on the ride side near the lower ribs isn't usually a good thing.

Frown: A relative is moving to Korea, so we had a send off party with some family for lunch. Why am I frowning? You would be too if your lunch was digornio pizza that had been cooked and left out for a half hour. And vacation pictures from my brother-in-law.

400 pictures. And that was the short version. All viewed on his laptop, for eight people, none who would not stop asking "Move the screen up", "Move the screen down" or see shit because we were huddled up like the NYG's offensive line.

People, you should know this by now. From all the jokes in movies, tv shows, and even in stand up routines: The only people, no matter what you think, that want to see your vacation photos are

A) Your Grandmother
B) Someone who asks "Can I see your vacation photos?"

When group A dies, just stop showing people pictures consisting of you leaning on a big tree. I do love pics of people doing stuff and sharing pictures that have a story to go along with them, but vacation pictures are the worst when it is always "Here's us near a tree, here's us at another tree, here's the sky that day, here's a bird we saw, here's some clouds..."

The only Honeymoon picture I shared was one of my wife in her underwear putting her makeup on in a suite at the Francis Marion. See, now that is something people want to see.

Extra Frown: Just learned a loved one kicked the bucket. She was seventy three, saw her Granddaughter graduate high school just months ago, had a stomach ache two weeks ago, and now she has left the green side of the grass.

She complained of a stomach ache, and when diagnosed she was told she had stage 4 stomach cancer. Days later...kaput.

Enjoy every day duders. It happens like that to so many people. One day you're flying high, in the dirt the next.

It gets worse: Not crazy about my haircut.

Its gone now, so I did just sleep on it funny. My wife and I are going through hard weeks at work, so sleep has been restless.

I am sorry about the passing of your relative.

Thanks man. Funeral (11am) and burial (2:30pm) is tomorrow.

Puts quite a damper on my planned vacation to Chicago. Rescheduling a flight costs hundreds.

Sorry about your fam Luke.

Kinda irritated: The wife hired her other sister to do some work for her. This sister is a great woman. She's a hard worker, a great person, (my favorite of my sisters-in-law) and very smart. But she gets bored with secular things pretty easily and will start to slack off and do other things. In her orientation my wife told her something to the effect of:

"You need to understand and accept that you can't 'get bored' of this and start slacking. If you don't have time for this, you have to tell me now. Because I need X and Y done at specific times and those times aren't up for debate. This goes for every week."

She got a 'sure sure, no problem, it'll be fine' response. This job involves working from home and doing a little detective work when it comes to insurance claims and so on. Well she discovered today that last weeks uh, claims/forms/whatever she needed weren't done. She checked with her sister and was told "Oh yeah, well me and Mark (husband) are going out of town for this Church Convention so it kinda got set aside. I can get back to it next week."

*facepalm*

This is the reason why my work life and personal life are separate entities.

I agree but somehow her other sister (the oldest) has been kicking ass. And she's got WAY more distractions to contend with. I mean that literally. Her husband is crippled, and needs constant attention. Her two boys (currently on summer vacay) are bottomless pits that are completely dependent on visual stimulation in the form of videogames and Netflix - which by the way - cannot be used when mom is working. They live in a rural town so their 'broadband' is like 1.5 megabit. If they're watching Netflix or on PSN then the rest of their internet bandwidth is just gone. Her VoIP phone stops working and she cant even send email.

To top it all off, they have a 2 or 3 year old daughter who is an absolute brat. Shes cute and hilarious and I love her, but oh man is she a little brat.

And yet that sister bangs out all the stuff she needs done without issue.

Just-Hired-Sis has none of those distractions other than baby sitting an 8 year old nephew during summer vacation. an 8 year old that loves to read, knows how to use Netflix and has plenty of toys that he actually uses.

Thanks, but I'm not in the slightest bit down about it. Like my Father says "When it is over. It's over."

Never hire family or friends for one reason: You'll have to work harder. Why? Because family and friends need to be micromanaged. If you aren't on their tail all the time you will get the inevitable excuse of "You know me. I can fix this".
