Worse comes to worse and it under delivers...I could just get a Raspberry Pi and Load it with SNES, NES and Genesis Emulators and play Gameboy Games on my Gamecube.

I Already plan on getting a Raspberry Pi to turn into a Neo Geo Emulation machine.

Emulation hiccups would be my first worry. I'm betting side by side with real hardware it's going to fall short in one area or another. Even if it's just something like getting speed slightly off.

What I would do is take a look at any game that has trouble in a lot of emulators and see how it runs on this. Something with enhancement chips, NES/famicom games with unusual mappers, etc.
Oooh Shantae would be a good game to try out.
N64/NES/FC/SNES/SFC/GB (SGB)/GBC (Black)(SGB)/FDS/Satellaview/Genesis/Mega Drive/Master System & maybe N64DD/GBC/GBA.

Why not just buy them separately?

You could get the FC Twin for NES/SNES $20
A Famicom converter which would total $10
You can get a OG Genesis for $20
You can get a GBA for $30

For a grand total of $80. Which is still $20 cheaper than the Retron 5.

My point is, when you put all these things together, somethings gotta go. So why not just buy them separately? And down the road you can by a OG NES and SNES.

Is hdmi going to worth the compromise the Retron 5 brings? Because mark my words, there will be something.

Retron 5 is space-saving, that's one of the main reasons I want it.

Because the Retron 5 isn't a console on a chip. It's a completely different beast than the older clones.

I own all of the real hardware that's in the Retron 5 but I'm still interested in it because of the HDMI, the emulation features like game saves, the possible SD card slot and just the convenience of putting my old consoles away and saving space if the Retron 5's emulation ends up being good enough for casual play.

Your lowball math (excludes shipping, for one) also ignores the fact that it plays all regions, outputs GB/C/A games to the TV, has wireless or original controller options, has built in game genies/save state options, etc. You get a hell of a lot more for the extra $20.

EDIT: yeah, What Gunstar said ^^

Yeah this thing is in my view based on space saving convenience.
