What should I play next? I beat the Last of Us Sunday night. I'm torn between Red Dead Redemption, Deus Ex Human Revolution (Directors cut comes out in September) or LA Niore.

I DO have Saints Row the Thrid just sitting on my PS3 though...

Red Dead seems like it'd be a blast.

Of course it's ok. Arbitrary "too soon" limits on jokes are silly, and I'd argue that the best topical jokes are made in that time of discomfort surrounding discussion of an event.

Overall though, it still controls better than pretty well any console FPS out there and it's still a lot of fun. The voice acting even holds up well too.
With the production value and amount of polish that went into it, it's no surprise.

And you can now play an even more updated version via the Anniversary Edition.

The first Halo is great but I feel the series gets progressively worse with each installment.

The best FPS I've played this gen has actually been Bulletstorm. Very Unique, funny and it plays/looks great. But lets resume this dialog after I've played the Killzones.

I can see an argument for Halo being the best in the series, but I can't see a case for each successive one is worse than the last. In my opinion Halo 3 is the worst of the bunch (although I like them all to some degree.)

I'm actually playing through Anniversary Edition right now. The graphical and musical upgrades are nice. I plan on going through all of the Halo games over the next few months. It's probably the only console FPS I really like.

I remember being pretty disappointed by Halo 3, though it's been a while since I played it. I also remember being absolutely livid at how short Halo 2 was, and I didn't have XBL at the time. I think it took me all of 4 hours to beat.

I hear great things about Reach. Been really wanting to play that one.

Though, I have to agree, there's no Halo game where I was unhappy with my purchase and didn't have a good time. The disappointment was always relative to the series' own high points.

I love all the Halo games, but I agree that Halo 3 is the weakest one. Everyone loves to rag on Halo 2 (or at least they used to) but 3 is the one I have the least urge to replay, and the one I have the fewest memories from. Whereas I can remember nearly all of Halo CE.

Reach really is awesome, Ryan. They put so much effort into everything that I already knew I was in for a great time as soon as I saw the main menu.

Halo and the Last of US are probably the two games in the last 10 years that have stuck with me long after I beat them.

Halo just hit all the right buttons, There was at least one point in the game where I was actually startled when an Elite popped out in a hallway and that last section of the game when you're on the warthog and everywhere is just this massively epic battle. Not many game can replicate that. The Sequels, just didn't feel epic in comparison.

Last of Us, just as they kids say Had so many feels. I also think this is a game that doesn't need a Sequel. There's only really one thing that can happen in the Sequel and that is too cleche' and the Last of Us is anything but a Cleche'
