I've moved everything into UGCs/DS/DVD cases, so that involved recasing my jewel case games and my clamshell Genesis/Megadrive games. I've gotten a few CIB games over the years because I was looking to have the manual, maps, etc. In those cases I hold onto the box inside of a large box somewhere in my house.

I've often considered doing universal cases but loose carts save space. I can't even imagine if my entire collection was boxed like most of my Genesis games. Maybe if I get a bigger game room someday I'll do it.

C is the best choice, followed by A. B is not an option IMO.

Somewhat related -- where are people printing UGC covers? Everywhere I try printing them ignores the 300 dpi and I end up with stretched covers and a waste of money (not much, it's usually ike 30 cents a page, but still)... and I only have a B&W printer at home. Inkjets are cheap enough, but I feel like I'd want them laser printed if I was going to do them (which I want to -- they're all IN the UGCs just stalling on the covers)
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

UGCs are cool until you run into games that don't have any box art made on TCP yet. Then you have to either dig through the forums, ask for a request and hope somebody complies, or make your own.

Too much hassle if you ask me.

Id have to re-find it, but theres actually another site with a decent collection of VG covers too, I cant recall it right now, but I seem to remember between the two them having most every cover I could think of (minus alot of Japanese/PAL covers)

What I experimented with for a while was just doing the spine art. My thought was that is what you see 90% of the time, so why not just do that? That way if you have to make a new one, all you have to do is add the logo in your favorite image editor into your template and you are done in a few minutes. However my color printers are now long dead and gone.

Personally I hate custom cases or universal cases with printed artwork just because I view them as fake, and I hate anything that is fake. I love getting stuff CIB whenever possible, but if I can only get something as a loose cart, I'd rather keep it that way than get printed artwork or a custom case for presentation purposes. In my opinion, if you can't show the real deal box than don't show anything at all. There are plenty of nice ways to store and display loose carts anyway when boxes aren't an option. I'd prefer going that route than present something fake

I see where you are coming from and that works alot of the time, but specifically when it comes to (in my case) N64 games, there really isn't a great way to display or store them and keep them easily accessible, other than labeling the carts themselves.
