bumping this.

also my first post so hello to all!

Definitely interested in this, been readin about it for the past week. My girl and I were shopping around for a new NES or looking to fix up our current one and she stumbled upon this.

The more I read the more I want. Of course you could just use an emulator but where is the fun in that. Already eyeing up lots of old carts (especially Famicom).

Definitely more interested in the than the PS4 and Xbone.

:D

This reviewer talks about lag in a demo of the Retron 5.

Good article. I was originally going to snag one on release, but I may wait for a couple video reviews to come out before I pick up a system. Then again, if it's less the $100, it maybe worth it either way. Especially with the option to update it and possibly "root" the system later on.

I will still try to get one on launch.

Emulation hiccups would be my first worry. I'm betting side by side with real hardware it's going to fall short in one area or another. Even if it's just something like getting speed slightly off.

What I would do is take a look at any game that has trouble in a lot of emulators and see how it runs on this. Something with enhancement chips, NES/famicom games with unusual mappers, etc.
