I've barely played it so I can't really say. You might be right, tough.

When you add crazy weapons and a teddy bear with a machine gun, Dead Rising 3 looks pretty good.

Both of you are right, in my opinion. I think there are four games that define modern game design, whatever I mean by that terminology:

Half-Life
Metal Gear Solid
Shenmue
Deus Ex

They all came one right after the other too.
Resident Evil's tank controls may not have broken any ground. But I think it opened a few doors for inspiration in Gameplay/Story Narrative. But Shenmue would perfect it

Ocarina of Time? I feel like nearly every action/adventure game I've played in the 3D era borrows a lot from it, especially mechanically.
I feel the same, but I also feel that Ocarina has a lot of character too. For me, it's a different and enjoyable experience rather than a game that was once innotative but now just feels outdated.

Well it's a big deal for both of those reasons :)

Alone in the Dark did the same thing 4 years earlier, although it didn't have voice acted conversations between characters. Although it did feature some spoken lines of dialogue in the intro.

YOU THE MASTER OF UNLOCKING, Changed everything. I remember reading about Resident Evil and that the dev team said that "Not even 32 bit was enough for what we envisioned"

So Code Veronica a few years later.. SAME GAME. At least playwise. Code Veronica had a great story though I had not (and still haven't) Played RE 2.
