How much are you looking for it?
Full disclosure, I would open and use that controller immediately if I purchased it for you. The Wii Classic controller doesn't do it for me.

They seem to be ranging from $40-60 (your model) to closer to $80-$100 (JPN model). If you sold it and still wanted an adapter, I'd make sure you cleared enough to make it worth your while to get one/have it shipped.
If I were you I'd just keep it as a nice collector's piece that is there to use if/when you ever need it.

I own one as well (Japan Model) and have had the same question lately, although mine has been played (by me). Ultimately I think there's a chance that when Nintendo does release this or similar to Club Nintendo members in the US, the value would drop down to 50 - 60 USD. How much is the Ball G&W reissue selling for these days? Last I checked it was nothing to write home about.
