Sega Saturn Region Free Bios Mod Service

Post by MrEpiK91 »

I have a North American Sega Saturn that I want modified with region free bios. Can anyone tell me who provides mod services? I'd do it myself but I am not very handy with a soldering iron. And I tried contacting Jinn who apparently has not logged onto this site for some time.

They sell a mod-chip here at Racketboy that allows you to play burned discs on your Saturn. You can then burn whatever disc to whatever region you want. (That's how I found this site, BTW)

I do not burn my games nor do I have any desire to do so. I just want to have the bios installed so that I can play import games on my Saturn that are not fully compatible with my Action Replay Cart. And as I said before, I am NOT handy with a soldering iron. I am afraid that if I tried to do it myself that I would solder the wrong connections/points, damage the console, or set my house on fire. That is why I want it done by someone who knows what they are doing. And while I have sent Jinn a PM and posted a reply on his Mod Service forum, I have no idea when he will respond to it or if he will even respond to it at all. That is why I am asking if anyone on this site knows of someone who will be able perform the mod for me. Someone I can trust who will charge a fair price and who will know exactly what they are doing when they get my console.

That's exactly what I did. I found a guy on Craigslist that was advertising such services.

For $20 not only did he install the mod-chip for me, but he also burned a few of the first games for me since he already had them on his PC, he also soft-modded my original XBox for me, and smoked me out to boot.

Come on, reading comprehension people. First the OP is told to contact someone they already tried to contact, then they are told a second time about a modchip and burns after stating they aren't interested in that.

Thank you. Do you know someone I can contact for the mod?

I think I've looked that mod up before. As I recall it uses a 3 pole switch or something, right? I was just using a modchip and a cart before I got a J Saturn.

*edit*

Maybe check if Snowkitty has done it before?
