My list of Jaguar games worth owning

Post by Rawkmann »

I always felt that the Jaguar had more games that are actually decent than it gets credit for. Here are the games I feel that range from pretty decent to legitimately worth owning the system for:

Alien Vs. Predator
Brutal Sports Football
Cannon Fodder
Doom
Flashback
Flip Out!
Iron Soldier
NBA Jam Tournament Edition
Pinball Fantasies
Pitfall the Mayan Adventure
Power Drive Rally
Raiden
Rayman
Ruiner Pinball
Super Burnout
Syndicate
Tempest 2000
Wolfenstein 3D
Worms Limited Edition
Zool 2

What do You guys think? Did I leave any out or did I include any that You think don't deserve to be mentioned?

What about Atari Karts?

Other than that you have all the titles I consider must haves.

Still not my cup of tea...though it might be fun to play AvP. Otherwise, nothing there that remotely interests me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Jaguar is essential to own or anything BUT its still a decent overall system to collect games for if Your looking for something out of the ordinary.

Guess I need to play Atari Karts. To be honest I never knew Iron Soldier 2 came out on cart, how much do they usually go for?

about $100 and up. I think you can still order the cart version through Telegames: http://www.telegames.com/is2cart.htm

Heck, I still think the Jaguar version of Tempest 2000 is the best version.

That list just about covers it, although I did think Ultra Vortek and Primal Rage CD were good fighters for the system. The key is using the Jaguar "Pro" controller. Not only did it have 6 buttons, but more importantly the D-pad is 100x more responsive/accurate and makes playing fighters on the Jaguar tolerable finally. Even Kasumi Ninja is playable with the Pro Controller (although its still corny as hell).

I also hear Zero 5 is a really good game, but its too expensive so Ive never actually tried it.

Definitely my favorites are Alien vs Predator, Zool 2, Wolfenstein 3D, Tempest 2000, Rayman, and Iron Soldier II CD. The worst game of all time is Highlander for Jaguar CD.

Pinball Fantasies was a perfect port from the PC. Super Burnout is probably the best looking racing game on the Jaguar.
