I know reviews weren't stellar, but I really like tactical games and it seems like PxZ is just that with pretty much no story or exploration to deal with, which sounds somewhat ideal for a portable tactics game in my mind. (I loved Rebelstar Tactical Command on GBA for instance). That said, 50-60 hrs does sound like overkill to me as well. So tough to say.

Yeah I'm not sure that Fire Emblem game is a high enough priority to me to track it down right away. And I'm also not sure I'm really super interested in the eShop at this point enough to make me want to spend the extra $ to get the points.

I would spring for the FE. My favorite game on the 3DS so far.

Unrelated to IV but related to SMT: you can get SMT Soul Hackers for $28 shipped on amazon. Just a heads up. It's another great 3DS game!

Might be worth checking out alongside IV.

Do you have a PSP or Vita? If so, Disgaea (PSP), Disgaea 2 (PSP), Disgaea 3 (Vita), Disgaea 4 (Vita coming soon), Phantom Brave (PSP), ZHP Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman (PSP, highly recommended).

I also back Fire Emblem Awakening recommendations and add Devil Survivor Overclocked for 3DS. :) I know you weren't actually asking for recommendations. But there are certainly tactical RPGs that are better, shorter on the main 'story', and require more actual tactics than PxZ. :P

oh I'm fully aware of that haha. I think it basically boils down to the fact that when it was announced to be localized I was like "oh F, am I really going to have to think about getting a 3DS?" so y'know, now that it's out I kind of feel like I should (A) support them for localizing it, and (B) actually play the game I was excited about being localized.

Project X Zone is probably worth it just for the fact that it's a crazy crossover game that in 9 other dimensions out of 10 wouldn't be localized. But it did, and I doubt it'll be printed for long so maybe it'll be worth something down the line as well.

Definitely this. Not to get on the soapbox but I think it's completely worth it to take a risk on stuff like this even if it doesn't turn out to be game of the century, just to support the release and encourage more if nothing else.

Oh come on. I wasn't trying to guilt anyone into doing anything.
